Everyday Skin care Routine for Combination skin

Something that I’ve battled with for a while is having dry skin and occasional breakouts, only recently have I got clear skin and this is down to the products I’ve been using in my everyday skin care routine, I was definitely not blessed with the smoothest and spot clear skin but there are definitely products I’ve been using that have helped combat that and help improve my skin so I’m pretty happy that I’ve been able to find a skincare routine that works both for me and my skin. I have written previous skincare routines on my blog but they have been lazy and quick, now I put that time and effort into my skin, if you don’t put time and effort into something, it’s not going to work right? Of course I’ve waffled on too much so without further a do, let’s get into my everyday skincare routine for combination skin.

My every day Routine

STEP ONE: Garnier Micellar water

This is definitely a product that I keep going back to every once in a while, I go and try different Micellar water’s but their never as good as this one.

This one by Garnier removes all makeup even the toughest products like waterproof mascara, it gets rid of any dirt and unessential oils that are clogging up the skin, but this product is definitely super hydrating and gentle on the skin so perfect for people who have sensitive skin. I apply this to a large cotton pad and rub this around my face making sure I get rid of any left over makeup. On the days I have gone overboard on the eye makeup. I will use the Simple Kind to Skin Eye Makeup Remover, this works really well at removing harsh makeup on the eyes and is definitely gentle to use.

STEP 2: Garnier Pure active anti blackhead facial wash

I will then use a face wash, specifically the Garnier blackhead face wash to get rid of any dirt or left over makeup that the Micellar water didn’t get rid off.

I’ve been using this product for months now and it works wonders at clearing my skin and getting rid of any blackheads I may have hidden on the skin. Something that I’ve recently added to my skincare routine is using the Primark cleansing brush (it was only £3 reduced), I apply a tiny bit of this face wash onto the brush and using the brush, I cleanse it into my skin for around 2 minutes and this really helps to lift any dirt and unclog pores, this leaves my skin feeling so smooth and really feels like my skin is clean.

STEP 3: Lush ‘Let the good times roll’ cleanser

After taking off all of my makeup, I like to cleanse my skin just to get rid of any dirt that has accumulated in my skin from the night before. First off, I am absolutely in love with the smell of this cleanser, when applying it to the skin it really feels like it’s working into the skin and cleaning my face. This cleanser smells like popcorn and there is also tiny bits of popcorn mixed in with this cleanser which adds to the fragrance.

I definitely won’t go back to not using a cleanser in my everyday skin care routine, I have seen a massive improvement in the condition of my skin and it feels cleansed and revived. This is definitely a product I’d recommend to anyone looking for a product to leave the skin soothed and softened and also leaving a subtle glow.

STEP 4: Garnier Rose water Cleansing milk

This product alongside the Lush cleanser is the perfect combo in getting smooth and revived skin. This is also perfect for sensitive skin so if your dealing with sensitive skin, you should definitely give these a try. This helps against impurities in the skin along with leaving the skin feeling smooth, I apply this using a cotton pad.

STEP 5: Garnier Rose water toner

I love using a good toner in my everyday skincare routine, I feel this is the product that has helped my skin the most, it helps to smooth the skin but it also helps at fighting impurities and giving the skin the hydration it needs. Sometimes my skin can look quite dry and dead so using this toner just boosts the hydration I need giving my skin a subtle glow.

STEP 6: Garnier Rose water moisturiser

Last up, moisturiser, I love this Garnier moisturiser as it works hand in hand with the cleansing milk and the toner leaving the skin feeling really smooth and cleans. This product is perfect for dry skin because it gives an added hydration to the skin and also gets rid of any dry skin that is on the face.

That is the end to my very long everyday skincare routine, I really hope you enjoyed the read, do you use any of these products in your skincare routine? Let me know in the comments, I’ll see you next time for a new post. Chlo x

Autumn Morning Routine at university

Morning and evening routine’s are definitely my favourite post’s to read because I love having a nosy at what people get up to in the morning and evening. I’ve been back at university for a few week’s now and I’ve definitely got back into the swing of things in terms of being back in the routine of going to lectures etc. In today’s post, I’m going to be telling you what I get up on the morning at university before lecture’s as some of you may be interested. I’ve uploaded Spring and Summer versions of these if you want to have a look at what I got up to then.

In this instance and the day I’m writing this, it’s Thursday and I’m in lecture’s at 11 until 1. I will set my arm the evening before to 9 just so I have plenty of time to have breakfast and get some bits done. I’ve been trying to wake up earlier but when at university, it can prove quite difficult if you’re not sleeping until 1.

The first thing I will do as soon as I wake up is have a glass of water, this is definitely a good time to have a drink as you are going to be dehydrated as you’ve slept for a number of hours and your body needs it, I always find this a good time as throughout the day I tend to forget to have a drink which is something I really want to work on so having that glass in the morning can be really beneficial. I will then go and open my curtains and make my bed as soon as I get up so I don’t get the temptation to get back into bed, which is something that happens a lot. I will then go downstairs to use the toilet and I will wash my face, the face wash I’m using is the Lush ‘let the good times roll’ cleanser which I purchased recently but I really like it, it makes my skin so smooth so I’d definitely recommend. I then brushed my teeth which is a necessity.

I will then go ahead and make myself some breakfast, for this morning I am going to have some golden balls which are definitely the best and I will add some Soy milk which I’ve been loving at the moment. I also had a banana just to get one of my 5 a day in. I then took this back upstairs and ate it while scrolling through twitter and Instagram of course. I had some free time so I decided to grab my laptop and get to writing on a new blog post, I always like to get some idea’s down in the morning because I feel this is when all my thoughts flow.

Once I’ve eaten my breakfast, I will quickly run downstairs and wash up the things I’ve just used just so it doesn’t start to pile up. I will then go back into my room and get everything I need to start getting ready for my day. The first thing I do is my makeup, at the moment I am loving burnt orange shades on my eyes, if you want to see an in depth tutorial of my everyday makeup at the moment, here’s the link.  I will then start doing my hair, on this specific day I decided to curl my hair for the first time in a while. Finally I will put on my outfit for the day and apply some perfume and all my jewellery.

I will then get everything I need for university like my bag and coat etc and then I will head for the door, that is the end of my morning routine for university, if you would like to see an evening routine for university, let me know in the comments because I’d love to get that up for you. Thank you so much for reading, I really hope you enjoyed, a new post will be up on Monday, Chlo x

Self-care Haul (The body shop, Lush, Sephora)

Self-care is something I find so important and I feel that everyone should experience some TLC every once in a while. Over the past few months I’ve accumulated quite a lot of skincare as I must admit, I am quite an addict when it comes to skincare. I brought most of these things at student night at my local shopping centre where I got some gift bags which was so amazing, I also purchased some of these bits from Rome which I’ve been refraining from using until I’ve showed you guys.

First things first and probably where the majority of these items are from, Lush, I haven’t had a splurge in there for a while but I fell in love with everything while I was in there the other day so I thought I’d pick up some of the items, I definitely want to go back in a couple of weeks to pick up some of the Halloween and Christmas items because every year, Lush always seems to impress me when it comes to their themed items. The first thing I picked up, which was a definite must for me and I can’t leave the store without one is ‘sex bomb’ this is definitely my favourite bath bomb in which they sell in Lush as the scent isn’t too strong but definitely has a lingering smell which is so luxurious.

Next item which is something I’ve had my eye on for a while and that is the ‘let the good times roll’ facial cleanser, I was given a tester of this a few years ago and I absolutely loved how smooth it left my skin but I never got round to actually purchasing it full size. This definitely has one of those scents that you could sit there and smell all day and almost smells edible because it definitely does. I’ve tested this out once after purchasing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has combination/dry skin because it works wonders at removing any dry skin upon my face which I’ve definitely been looking for.

Next up is something I’ve been trying to hold of since it came into store and that’s ‘snow fairy’ this is definitely a very popular product with good reason because it smells beautiful. If you haven’t got round to ever smelling this, it definitely smells very similar to the Strawberry lip scrub which is also sold by Lush which is an amazing product but I definitely didn’t use it enough. I’m going to try my best to hold off from using this product until November time because I purchased another shower gel from the body shop which I will show later but it will definitely be a challenge. I’m definitely thinking about going to purchase the Snow fairy gift set.

While I was in Lush, it was student night and they were offering a goodie bag to anyone who spent over £15 which I did and then we got some free products, the two products which were in my goodie bag were two of their soaps, personally, I’ve never actually tried of Lush’s soaps so this is a great opportunity to test them out, I must add they both smell absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to test them out. They both didn’t have names on them so I’m sorry but they are both very popular within Lush so they shouldn’t be hard to find.

The next place I went into was The Body Shop, I am in love with a lot of there items but I had to refrain from purchasing the whole shop, again it was student night and amazingly, they had 30% all their products and I got some samples as part of my purchase, the first thing I purchased was definitely something I’ve held off purchasing for a while because I never found the time to go and purchase it and that’s the Strawberry body yogurt. I definitely have an addiction to the Strawberry scent at the body shop and I just can’t get enough, I’ve tested this once since purchasing and I’m definitely obsessed, it’s quick drying and the scent lingers on the skin for a good few hours which is definitely amazing.

The next and final item that I purchased from the body shop was of course another Strawberry scented product and it was the Strawberry Shower gel, I’ve wanted to purchase this for a while but the retail price of this is £5 which I thought was a bit pricey so I took advantage of the offer and picked it up, I definitely got a bargain while I was in the body shop, the Strawberry yogurt retails for £8.50 and the shower gel retails for £5 and the whole purchase came to £7.50, what a saving and what a bargain. As I said previously, as part of the purchase I was given a free bag of samples which I can’t wait to test out, I haven’t had a look what’s inside but I definitely can’t wait to try out some new bits.

Could you help a gal out in the comments and let me know what the best skincare products are from the body shop because I definitely want to test some out, I always found the body shop skincare to be quite pricey so I’d love it if you could give me some recommendations on what works best so I could definitely test those out.

The next store that I had a nosy in was Yankee Candle, this isn’t quite skincare but it definitely falls under the category of self-care right? I picked up this ultimate bargain while I was in there which was this Halloween candle set, it comes with two rare candles which were in the scents ‘witch’s brew’ and ‘forbidden apple’ cute names right? The set also comes with a Pumpkin head holder for the candles which is so cute and will go so well as decor for Halloween, the best part about it was that it was only £6 which is a definite bargain.

While I was in Rome, I obviously had to go into Sephora as I was eager to test out the face masks because I’d heard so many amazing things about them, I’ve held of using these since going to Rome just so I could feature them in this post, a dedicated blogger I know. I also decided to pick up on of their hair masks also as I was intrigued to see how nourishing this would be on my hair and my hair is in some definite need of some TLC. I can’t wait to be able to go to Sephora again so I can pick up some more.

Now on to some of the random bits I want to show you, first of are these facial wipes, your probably thinking why am I featuring these? I just wanted to give you a heads up if your looking for some cheap wipes which are really effective and cheap, I got these pack of two which hold 25 in each for £1 which is amazing if you ask me which are from Primark of course, Primark have brought out some really good facial wipes at the moment and I was really intrigued ed when I saw these as they claim to be micellar wipes so I was curious to see if they would work the same as micellar water which they actually do, they work really well at removing harsh makeup and eye makeup.

Finally a moisturiser I want to recommend to you all, this is the eye wake moisturiser which can be purchased from Amazon, this was kindly gifted to me so I can review it for you which will be on my Instagram in a couple of days, the link to my Instagram is on my blog page, it’s not an ad btw. I won’t say too much but this moisturiser is really hydrating and leaves the skin feeling really smooth which is amazing, it is also perfect for dry skin.

And that is a wrap, that’s all the skincare products I’ve picked up over the past few months, I definitely hope I’ve found some new skincare favourites, which you will find out in my October favourites so keep your eyes peeled. Are there any products I’ve mentioned which are your favourite’s? I’d love to know, thank you so much for reading, I’ll see you next time on Friday for a new post, Chlo x

My Autumn Bucket List, just so I don’t spend the season watching Halloween films

I’m putting together an Autumn Bucket List because I know if I don’t I’ll either spend the season procrastinating or spending the season watching the nightmare before Christmas which I’m not going to lie, I would gladly do. Autumn is definitely my favourite season so putting together this Bucket List was fairly easy, this includes some Halloween related bits, boring life bits and some thing’s I want to achieve before Winter and Christmas come around.

So the first thing on my bucket list is,

Go to the gym at least 5 times a week and put together a workout schedule

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while but I’ve finally realised it may be beneficial in continuing my progression. I’m going to try to go to the gym at least 5 times a week, this will be helpful as I’ve only been going the days I’ve felt like I can be bothered to do so I’m only going maybe 3 – 4 times each week but I want to push myself to go 5 times every week. I want to put together a schedule to make this easier and to become a routine for me to follow and it will just become normal. I’m planning on going to the gym Tuesday – Saturday as I have a super busy day in university on Monday and I want to give myself Sunday to have a break and maybe a cheat day because eating healthy can become quite boring so having a cheeky pizza every once in a while won’t harm you.

Continuing on from this, I want to put together a workout schedule for places I’m going to work on, on a specific day because recently I’ve just been going to the gym and doing things I want to do but that’s normally abs and cardio and that isn’t going to work on my arms is it so I want to associate each day with a different workout and a different focus, just so I make sure I work on everything throughout the week.

Go pumpkin picking/go to garden centre’s

Something that I have on my bucket list every Autumn is going pumpkin picking, this is something I’ve always wanted to do but never been able to, either I live to far from a pumpkin patch or I realise to late into October and they’re all gone. This is such an Autumn/Halloween thing which I feel is so Autumnal and would put me right in the Halloween feels.

Learn to love myself and accept my body for what it is

Body confidence is definitely something I’ve been trying to work on all year and it hasn’t seemed to improve much, the only thing that has improved it slightly is my progress in losing weight. Accepting yourself is something I will shout from the rooftops that everyone should do and self-care is also important, I’ve written several posts on loving yourself so head over to my blog if you want to have a read. I want to take more time out to do things I love, like having a pamper evening every once in a while, go to the gym, have a solo movie night etc, loving someone else is easy but loving yourself is the hardest challenge of all, but once you do, you can conquer the world.

Actually decorate for Autumn/Halloween

This is something I want to do every year but I completely forget to do so and that is decorate for Autumn/Halloween. I’d love to get some Autumn leave bunting or ‘happy Halloween’ but I never get round to doing so. I also carve my pumpkin way to late into the year and I only have the decorations up for 2 days which is pretty pointless and a waste of money so this year I want to get some decorations early so I can enjoy the buildup to Halloween.

Get my Christmas shopping semi done

Only recently have I had to start purchasing Christmas presents but I’ve soon come to realise that you have to snatch everything early in time before everyone else wants it. I left all my Christmas shopping till late November last year and that was definitely a bad idea, so my aim this year is to get some started throughout October so I can have some presents ready so I’m not in a bad rush in November.

Try for my Autumn Fashion

If you’ve seen some of my latest posts, I’ve shown you some of the Autumn Fashion bits I’ve recently picked up and I really want to try with my Autumn Fashion this year, I don’t want to just throw on some jeans and a jumper which does sound really comfy but I want to try with my outfits and makeup because it’s definitely my favourite time of the year and I don’t want to take it for granted like I do each year. I want to do this for myself so I can hopefully boost my self esteem and to boost my body confidence once and for all.

These are all my goals for this Autumn, do you have any? Let me know in the comments because I’d love to know. thank you so much for reading and I look forward to seeing you for a new post on Wednesday at 12 x

Burnt Orange Autumn Makeup Look

As I’ve probably mentioned a billion times before, I’m obsessed with burnt orange shades especially in makeup. I’m going to be showing you a makeup look I’ve been doing a lot recently and I’ve had so many questions about the products I’ve used and how I’ve done this eye look. If you like this this makeup look and want to see more looks from me, let me know in the comments and I’d love to write those for you. Let’s get straight into the makeup look.

Concealer

If you haven’t read any of my makeup looks before, I don’t tend to use Foundation as I don’t like how it looks on the skin and I love my base makeup to look natural. So, the concealer, the basis of the whole makeup look, I use the Revolution Conceal and Define concealer which is definitely one of my favourites. I put this on my blemishes and my under eye’s, one thing I must note is that this concealer is very thick and you shouldn’t apply too much as you have to spread it all over the face and that doesn’t look great. The shade I have mine in is 0.5 but I think I’ll have to go and purchase shade 1 as 0.5 is slightly too light.

Powder-

The powder I’ve been using for a few months is the Rimmel stay matte powder and I’ve only just hit pan on this and I’ve used it for at least 3 months so it definitely lasts a while. I LOVE having a matte face as I hate looking dewy and I love to use highlighter to bring dimension back into the skin. I run this over my face and on my neck using a fluffy brush.

Contour & Highlighter-

The contour and highlight palette I’ve been loving at the moment is the Revolution Contour and highlight palette, this is really handy and is definitely travel friendly. Even though the palette is quite small, there is definitely loads of product and won’t run out quick which is amazing. This palette is only £3.50 and I’d definitely recommend. I run the contour along my jawline and cheek’s and along the top of my head which makes such a huge difference. I then use the highlighter which is also in this palette and run it on my cheek bone and along my nose and cupid’s bow, what I really like about the highlighter in this palette is that it has a gold undertone which is perfect for Autumn and it makes it look so much more natural.

Brows-

For brows, which is definitely the most important, I am going to be using the Revolution brow pomade in Medium Brown which works amazing at carving out the shape of my eyebrows and makes my eyebrows look so much more natural. I’ve used a variety of brow products and I’d definitely recommend a pomade for beginners, it makes it so much easier to carve out your eyebrows. I do this using an angled brush.

Eye-shadow-

All the shades I’m going to be using in this look I’ve placed a heart onto just to make it easier when explaining it as the palette doesn’t come with any shade name’s. So this is the Revolution Iconic Fever palette which I’d definitely recommend for Autumn if your on a budget or starting out with makeup, it’s only £4 and all the shades are so pigmented. The first shade I’m using is the shade is the 4th on the top row which is a light orange shade which is perfect for a base shade, I ran this through my crease to start some dimension. The next shade I went in with was the one next to it which is a bit darker and I ran this through my crease also and on my lower lash line. The next shade I used was the red in the middle which is so pigmented and beautiful, I run this through my crease again and putting it more over my eyes. I do all this using a fluffy eye shadow brush. Finally, using a flat top brush, using the first shade, I run this through the inner corner and towards the inner of my eye to brighten the look back up.

Liner-

This one is pretty basic but I use the MUA liner which is so pigmented and the pen makes it so much easier to get an accurate line. I also used a Kohl liner on my lower lash line to create a deeper eye look and bring the whole look together.

Mascara-

There’s not a lot of explaining needed for mascara because I’m sure everyone knows how to do this. The mascara I use is Miss Sporty Booster Mascara and apply quite a lot of layers on my top and lower lashes to somewhat make it look like I have naturally long eyelashes.

Lips-

Last but not least, the lip colour I’m using for this look is the MAC Retro Matte in shade ‘Burnt Spice’, this is the perfect nude for Autumn as the eye’s are the centre of the look and this lip colour is still obvious but isn’t as dramatic compared to a red lip.

This is the end of my makeup look, I’m so excited to wear this makeup look throughout Autumn, it’s perfect. Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to seeing you again on Monday.

Top 5 Autumn Makeup Favourites

If anyone knows me, they would know I’m a total Makeup hoarder and I love anything makeup, I’ve took a back seat when it comes to makeup/beauty on my blog because lifestyle and travel suits more me and my personality but I definitely want to incorporate beauty into my lifestyle posts. As you can see from the title. I am going to show you my top 5 Autumn Makeup Favourites which suit the orange and warm toned needs in Autumn. If your new here, I uploaded ‘my top 5 Fashion fav’s on Monday so if you want to have a nosey at those, you can click here.

The first makeup product I want to talk about is something I picked up recently and that’s;

Revolution Palette in Iconic Fever

This palette holds all the Autumn heavenly needs when it comes to creating that perfect warm toned look. I was a bit late in terms of picking this palette up because it’s been out for a while and it’s only £4 which is an absolute bargain. All the shades are so so pigmented that you can’t almost believe that the palette was only £4. You can create so many looks with this palette and I especially love the deep orange and red shades in this palette.

MAC Retro Matte in ‘Burnt Spice’

This has been my favourite lip colour since summer, I’m just obsessed with how dark of a nude it is and it goes so well with any makeup look. This lip colour looks so perfect for Autumn because you can make the eye look the centre of attention and when it comes to the lips you still have something there that isn’t too in your face like a dark lip. I got this for my birthday but I will be definitely buying more as they are definitely worth the money as when I put it on first thing in the morning the lipstick is still on in the late afternoon which is pretty amazing.

Sephora Lipliner in shade ‘Deep Ruby’

When we wen’t to Rome it was the first time that I was able to go in Sephora and one of the products I picked up was this lipliner in the shade ‘deep ruby’ this is such an amazing deep red colour which would go perfectly with any Autumn look and would also look amazing with a Christmas makeup look. This lip liner was only 4.99 euro which was pretty good, I kind of regret not getting the full sized version because I love it that much but I definitely will next time I go travelling. It’s so pigmented on the lips and sometimes I really like to use lip liners instead of lipsticks as the pigmentation stays so much longer compared to other lipsticks I’ve tried.

Makeup Revolution Contour, Highlight and blush palette in shade one

This is such an amazing palette for when your on the go as it’s so compact but everything in the palette is so pigmented. I love this palette especially for autumn as the contour shade isn’t to warm so it goes so well with Autumn makeup looks. My favourite thing about the palette is the highlighter, in summer I tend to wear a white highlighter but the one in this palette has a golden tint to it making it perfect for Autumn looks as it doesn’t stand out too much. This palette is so affordable also, it’s only £3.50 so if your looking for a new contour palette, I’d definitely recommend this one.

Revolution Contour and Conceal Concealer

This has been a favourite of mine for a couple months now but I stopped using it as I ran out and didn’t purchase another one but recently I picked a new one up in a lighter shade and it’s the perfect shade for me now! I have it in shade 0.5, yes that’s how pale I am but it works amazingly on the skin. I’ve been breaking out recently as it’s been my time of the month but this concealer has worked amazing at covering them up. I really want to test out the matching Foundation but I haven’t got round to doing so quite yet.

That’s all of my makeup favourites, are any of these one of your favourites? Let me know in the comment’s what your makeup favourites are as I’d love to know! Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to seeing you on Friday for a new post x

Top 5 Autumn Fashion pieces in my wardrobe

Happy first of October, how exciting, it’s the month of Halloween and that makes me so excited!! Autumn and fashion has got to be my favourite combo, narrowing down my favourite Autumn pieces into 5 was pretty difficult but I do have some winning contenders. Autumn fashion has definitely got to be my favourite, I definitely haven’t got all my Autumn pieces as I’ve just ordered some other pieces but I thought I’d show you my top 5 fashion pieces at the moment. Let me know in the comments what your favourite Autumn clothing piece is because I’d love to know. Also, on Wednesday I will be uploading my top 5 beauty products for Autumn so keep your eyes peeled for that.

So, my first favourite is probably my favourite thing in this post and I can’t wait to wear them in the later months and those are,

Denim Culotte dungaree’s

I’ve been on the hunt for some new dungaree’s on the high street but I never managed to find any that picked my fancy. At uni there was a vintage clothing sale which was so exciting and I picked up these dungaree’s at the very end but was really unsure to whether they’d fit and I’m so happy I decided to pick them up because I am absolutely in love with them, they fit perfectly and they can be warn on so many ways, I’ve warn them so many times already and to top it all off they were only £12 which was definitely a bargain.

As seen in the previous image, I am wearing the dungaree’s with an off the shoulder long sleeved black top which is definitely my go to but I would also wear them with a white jumper which will be mentioned later on in this post with some Chelsea boots or when it comes to the winter I could wear them with a long sleeved top and a teddy bear coat.

Khaki Green Jumper dress

Jumper dresses are definitely my favourite in Autumn especially with knee-high boots, I’ve had this jumper dress for a couple of years now but I’m still so in love with it. I got it from H&M a few years back and it’s still in perfect condition. I love wearing jumper dresses when it comes to Autumn because when it’s that little bit warmer, you can wear them bare-legged with some boots or when it’s colder outside, I tent to wear it with some thick tights, Chelsea boots and a hat which is such a vibe.

Burnt orange button down top

I’ve had my eye on this top for a few months now but it was a bit more expensive that I normally spend so I held off but now that I own it, I’m so happy and it was definitely worth the money. This top was from Miss Selfridge, I’d recommend you going in the store or having a look online because they have some really nice bits in at the moment. This top was originally £22.99 for reference but as I’m a student I managed to get 20% and it was £17 which is a pretty good deal.

In terms of styling this top, I will usually wear it with some culotte jeans that I picked up from New Look at such a bargain, they were on sale for £8 and they fit perfectly. When I want to wear a more autumn style outfit, I would pair this top with a gingham skirt and some tights and Chelsea boots, I would also then add a white cardigan for warmth.

White oversized jumper

I’ve featured this jumper on Instagram a fair few times and so many people are in love with it, just like I am. I’m one of those people who never thinks white suits them but when I first tried on this jumper, I was in love. There is detailing on the front of the jumper which makes it look so much more expensive than it originally was. For reference, I got this jumper from H&M for only £12.99 which is such a bargain especially for the quality of the jumper. I’m looking forward to wearing this a lot when it comes to Autumn and winter.

When it comes to styling this jumper, the options are endless. This is such an easy piece to style and it especially looks good with denim. I would style it with the dungarees’ I mentioned earlier and I would also wear them with my denim culotte jeans. I could also wear this jumper with a skirt and some tights and that would make the perfect Autumn look.

Tweed style blazer

Last but not least, the thing everyone has been talking about, a tweed style blazer, I feel like I’ve seen these everywhere on Instagram lately which I’m so happy about because I wouldn’t have had a clue on how to style one let alone have the confidence to wear one. This style of blazer is quite sentimental to me which sounds kind of cliché but there you are. I got mine from a charity shop and it’s in such great quality, I only paid £8 for it which was a bargain as I’ve been seeing these blazers go for much more expensive, it was originally from Next for reference.

One outfit which I think this blazer goes perfectly is the one that is shown in this image, the red’s correspond perfectly together and it brings such an Autumn feel to an outfit, especially adding the tights and boots. I also feel this blazer would look amazing with a plain black dress for a more dressy or formal occasion or it could be dressed down with some high-waisted jeans and a plain black top.

There’s all 5 of my Autumn must haves, thank you for having a read, if you liked this and want to see more from me, head over to my blog and give a cheeky follow for more. Also, I uploaded an Autumn try on haul a few days a go so if you want to have a look at any other Autumn pieces I’ve picked up recently, check it out here. Look forward to seeing you Wedneday x

My September favourites- (one of my fav month’s)

How is it the end of September? Is it just me or has September been the slowest month for them? I’ve been to Rome and back and moved back to university and started my course again in the space of a month, it just feels weird. I’m definitely sad to be saying goodbye to this month but I’m definitely so excited for October and I’m so ready for all the Halloween post’s. As you can tell by the title, I’m going to be telling you my September monthly favourites, I can’t remember if I published one for Autumn but I’m happy to be back to writing them, these posts are definitely one of my favourite post’s to read so I hope you enjoy reading mine. These are going to be ranging from random bits and bobs, fashion and beauty.

Going to Rome of course!

Did you really think I was going to write a September favourites without mentioning Rome? This has got to be my top yearly favourite by a mile so far so if there’s anything that’s going to top that, it has to be amazing. Going to Rome was such an amazing experience and I miss it so much, I’d love to go back there definitely. My favourite part of the whole trip has got to be the first official day in Rome, I got to see the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain etc and they were places I’ve wanted to see for ages so I’m so happy to have finally seen them. Next up is Berlin which I’m trying to hold off booking but it’s proving rather difficult.

Moving back to university/decorating my room

Moving back to university was always something I was looking forward to and I couldn’t wait to move into my second year accommodation and decorate it, when I first moved in there was quite a bit wrong with the house which I’m not going to go into to much but now that I’ve fully decorated, I feel like it’s my own and it definitely fits my personality perfectly compared to how last year’s accommodation was decorated. If your interested in having a look at how my room is currently decorated, the post is here. Since being back at uni, I’ve been out a fair few times and I’ve spent so much time catching up with my friends and it’s been so lovely so far so I’m definitely happy to be back.

Being back at the gym is a must

Over summer while I’ve been at home from uni, I haven’t been able to go to the gym because one closest to where I live was so expensive so I used the time to just do some at home workouts which helped my body so much but being back at the gym has made me so happy. It’s such a cliché thing but the gym is like my happy place where I can go by myself or occasionally with my friends and just have some time away from the world and show myself some self-love. There’s nothing more important than doing things to improve yourself mentally and physically and I think going to the gym is a great way at doing that.

Denim Culotte dungaree’s

Now onto some Fashion bits, I’ve been really into fashion over this month and I’ve been trying to incorporate some Autumn pieces into my wardrobe and these dungarees’ are definitely one of my favourite pieces I’ve picked up this month. There so easy and such a basic piece I feel like everyone need’s in their wardrobe and is definitely an investment piece, I definitely didn’t invest in mine as they were only £12 but I would definitely recommend purchasing a really good pair. There such an easy piece of clothing that can be worn in so many ways and can be worn all year round if dressed appropriately.

White Jumper which is to die for

Something that probably sounds super basic but isn’t is my white jumper which I feel like I’ve talked about in loads of my previous posts, oh wait, I’ve mentioned it in 3 of my latest posts, all in great reason I promise. This jumper is super basic and was from H&M for only £12.99, I’ve been loving H&M at the moment, I literally want everything, especially all of their jumpers so if your looking for some affordable but cute jumpers, have a look on H&M. This jumper has some detailing along the front which makes the jumper look so much more expensive even though it was such a bargain. What I love most about it is that I own nothing like it in my wardrobe especially because it’s white and I never thought I’d wear anything white. It’s definitely a statement piece that I’ve needed in my wardrobe for a while.

Revolution Iconic Fever palette, all the Autumn feels

A makeup product I’ve only purchased recently, I know, where have I been? is the Revolution Iconic Fever palette which is definitely my vibe and is definitely a vibe for Autumn. All the shades are so pigmented and for £4 you really can’t go wrong because that’s amazing especially for the quality of the palette. There are so many looks that can be created using this palette which I may write a whole post on showing you the different looks that you can create using this palette.

So guys, that’s all of my September favourites, I’m sure their would be loads more if I really thought about it but I don’t want to make this post 3.000 words long because that would just be boring. Let me know in the comments what your favourite thing has been this month because I’d be so interested to know and I’m always up for a convo in the comments. A new post will be up tomorrow where I’ll be showing you my top 5 Autumn fashion must haves, see you then x

Top 5 must see places in Rome, Italy

Rome is such a beautiful and unique place with so much culture which you can delve your mind into. There are so many beautiful places to visit that it was almost impossible to narrow them down into 5. If you haven’t already, I have two blog posts already up about my trip to Rome, here are the links if you’d like to check them out after having a read of this post.

Rome Diary: 72 hours in Rome 2018, Day 1

Rome Diary: 72 hours in Rome 2018- Day 2 & 3

Trevi Fountain- Piazza di Trevi, 00187 Roma RM, Italy

This one probably sounds really obvious but this is definitely a must see when in Rome, it has so much history which needs to be learnt. When I first started reading upon Rome, Trevi Fountain was definitely on the top of the list for the place’s I wanted to visit. It can be kind of difficult to sit down for a long period of time because you get bombarded with people trying to sell you things so I’d definitely recommend you sitting towards the end. I honestly could have sat here for hours just looking at the view because it was so beautiful.

Colosseum- Piazza del Colosseo, 1, 00184 Roma RM, Italy

The Colosseum is also another obvious must see but this holds all the routes and history Rome has to offer so going to Rome and not seeing the Colosseum just isn’t right. There are so many tours on offer which if that’s of some interest to you, I’d definitely recommend, personally, I didn’t, the reason being that I didn’t think there was going to be much to see and I would have rather spent my money elsewhere but if I happen to visit Rome again, I definitely will.

TOP TIP: If your looking for cheaper prices to enter the Colosseum, you could use one of the tour guides which are available making the queue’s so much smaller and it makes your ticket so much cheaper but some of these can be quite dodgy so an alternative would be to go really early in the morning or really late in the afternoon to avoid queuing for 2 hours.

Altare della Patria- Piazza Venezia, 00186 Roma RM, Italy

This is one of those places that I haven’t seen many people talk about it but it might have been one of my favourite places we visited, mainly because it was so quiet compared to the rest of Rome and that just made it so much better. This is definitely a must see as there’s loads to learn when your inside as it is a museum and then you get such an amazing view when your at the top. I’d definitely recommend having a nosy around Altare della Patria if you can get quite overwhelmed by everything in Rome because this is where you can have a bit of a step back and have a look at how beautiful the city really is.

The Spanish Steps- Piazza di Spagna, 00187 Roma RM, Italy

This was one of those places which wasn’t on my list for visiting while I was in Rome but I fell in love when I finally saw them, the view is so beautiful as you can see from the photo’s and the view from the top is just as beautiful. While your here, I would definitely recommend having a walk around the streets and having a nosy round the shops because this is where you can see the true culture within Rome and the streets, well, their just beautiful.

Note: There is one thing I should say about visiting the Spanish steps and some of the other places mentioned in this, there are so many people who will try to sell you things and sometimes it can be quite forced, we had a bad experience at the top of the Spanish steps where this guy forced my boyfriend into having a bracelet made on his wrist and when he was done he asked for 10 euro which we obviously didn’t want to pay, just be cautious about this, it is very normal while being abroad but there are definitely places in Rome where they focus on.

Rome Beach- Lungomare della Salute, 56, 00054 Fiumicino RM, Italy

This is something I’d 100% recommend if your staying in Rome for a couple of days to break it up, this is the closest beach to Rome and it is only a short train ride to get there. We decided to go on the second day to break up the amount of walking we had done from the previous day. This is a very quite beach so if you want to have some down time I’d 100% recommend. It is such a beautiful beach that I feel isn’t very known when it comes to Rome but their definitely is the option.

Note: Their are also people trying to sell you things while on this beach which can get quite irritating as you do get asked a fair few times but just say no and then they will leave you alone.

There my top 5 must see’s in Rome, are there any other places you would recommend to someone that I’ve missed off this list? I’ve definitely missed off a fair few so doing your own research before going is something I’d definitely recommend. In the comments, let me know if you’ve been to Rome and what your favourite place was or if your planning on going to Rome let me know what’s on your must see list. Thank you so much for reading.

Second Year Room Tour 2018

Something that I’ve been really excited about showing you is my updated room tour for my second year accommodation, it definitely took some work, it was almost unbearable to live in as we’ve had some real issues with this house but after putting in the work and time, I’ve made it almost feel like home and I’m so happy with it, there are definitely things I want to add so it’s definitely not complete but it’s almost there, I want to add some more prints to my wall because it looks quite bare but apart from that, I’m in love with it.

To start off with, I’m going to show you the centre of attention, the bed, for the first time ever, I have a double bed and I’m so excited about it, I’ve always had a single bed growing up so it’s definitely nice to have some room. I decided to go quite neutral and as minimalist as I could minus to overly amount off things I own. I got this bedding online and its so cute, I also got the two cushions from Asda which were on sale for only £3 each which was an absolute bargain and I’m obsessed with them, I got the mustard coloured cushion from Primark last Christmas which goes so nice with my throw. I am obsessed with my bed which is important as I practically spend most of my time in it.

Above my bed I’ve just got the two prints which I got from IKEA which I love and they really add something to my room, I can’t believe they were only £5 for the two.

Next to my bed I have this small side cabinet which is so handy for putting the small things that have no other home, here I’ve just put all my books which I still need to read some of them and I have my skincare and it all looks so cute on here. In the draw I just keep all the random crap which I may need some time in the future such as my passport and some bits from Sephora.

99e0a1ba-72d5-40b3-9916-7adefc8bb47e-10204d8ab-d60f-4900-9fd2-f0462638b542-1e7ada85b-5747-40fa-8db6-0300beedac89-1

Next to my bed which I really didn’t expect to have in my room is a fire place which I love, I love how different it makes my room like and even though it’s quite simple, it adds that bit extra to my room. On the shelf I’ve just put my cactus’s that I got from IKEA, my buddha and my Chloe purfume and I love how it looks. Above it I’ve just added some of the photo’s from my trip to Rome which I love.

c27f6bec-c17b-4d61-96c9-f7fc03c3c1e7-1ccbaee82-3fd5-4b7b-aeea-2394d7bfb43e-1721ac8f4-7399-435a-ba19-802c4c2b2251-1119d6717-b1ce-4da2-91a6-42c5b2d9940b-1

Next to that I just have my wardrobe which has obviously just got all my clothes in and I have my clothes dryer up the side as that was the only place it would go and wasn’t in the way, there isn’t much to this part in my room as I haven’t really decorated it much.

Next along I just have my window which is massive which I actually love because I have this weird love for massive window’s and it really opens up the room. Along the bottom I just have my two plants, a candle of course and my two pop vinyls, I really want to collect some more but I have no idea where to get them cheap.

c8a9a54c-c93d-4c7d-bd47-5f46b1c24544-1923bc925-9449-447e-a54c-7be35dcde896-1

Along from my window I just have my full length mirror which has came in so handy when looking to see if my outfit looks okay and next to that I just have a desk which is broken but I’m planning on getting another, I just have some random junk on there such as my stationary for uni, literally a pad and some pens and my picture from I got from my boyfriend last year, at the bottom of the desk, I have two trays which have all the random crap such as other notepads etc.

77659ce0-f29e-4b0c-b190-0c6fb753dc2b-17b3509f8-31d6-4893-86ff-614108410402-1

Now to the last but one of my favourite things in my room, my clothes rail, I just love how this looks in my room, I’ve added all my Autumn statement pieces on it and I just can’t stop looking at it, it goes so well with the theme of the room, the rail was also such a bargain, I got it from IKEA obviously for only £8. Below this I just have my rug which I love, this was from B&M and it was so cheap, I think it was only £6.

That is the end of my room tour, I hope you enjoyed having a nosey around my room, thank you for reading.

What impact social media is having on mental health and body image

Social media, something that is used on an everyday basis by billions of people, people scrolling through insta, tweeting on twitter and snapping on Snapchat, its became the norm of everyday society. BUT, is it having a negative affect on mental health or people in general.

7a0c9617-c507-495b-95ca-96ada717149f

I can’t remember a day where I haven’t scrolled through my insta and saw someone’s account and wished I had something similar to them, mainly along the lines of ‘why aren’t I as slim as her/him’ ‘I wish I dressed that good’ ‘I wish I looked like that’, think, are any of those thoughts positive to me? no, there all about wishing I was different but why can’t I be happy within myself? I’m sure everyone has gone through something similar, I’ve asked quite a lot of my friends if they’ve ever done this and all of them have said they’ve compared themselves to someone else at least once a day.

In this circumstance, this can be bad for mental health as your comparing yourself to loads of people everyday, 328 million people have an instagram account, imagine judging yourself to every single person on insta, this would have a really negative effect to your self esteem and self image. I am very fond of Instagram and I post up to 5 times a week, I would say I go on there at least 20 times a day; whether that’s scrolling through my feed, uploading a story or adding a post, so many people do the exact same thing.

Have you ever thought that you know someone and feel like you’ve known them for ages but you’ve never actually met them? you’ve just seen them on social media? This is probably because we see so much of someone else’s life more than ever before and we can learn so much about a person just basing it off their social media accounts.

There are also so many staged, photography which can make someone’s life look so much better compared to reality, which I’m all here for because photography is art and I think its beautiful, but some look too overdone. There are also so many flawless women in bikinis and so many in gym wear and they look stunning but this doesn’t help when it comes to self-doubt and perfectionism against our own-selves. I’ve had my fair share of times where I’ve looked at a women in a bikini or in gym wear and looked in the mirror and wondered why I don’t have a perfect body like her’s, but some of it comes down to angles. An angle of a photo can make or break an image and no one is ever going to upload an image on social media if they don’t see this as a perfect photo which I’m definitely guilty of because I wouldn’t upload an image if I looked terrible in it. Everyone’s life isn’t perfect and everyone has up’s and downs so don’t let the perspectives of the media contradict your opinion.

At uni, I’ve learnt all about addictions etc and I was thinking, why are so many of us addicted to our mobile phones and the use of social media? what makes us check our socials repeatedly even though we’ve seen the same post from the same person 3 times, let me tell you, there’s something called Dopamine in our body which drives on addictions, this is where you become addicted and seek out new information, a new photo etc, similarly to cocaine and nicotine, it gives us that same buzz. I’m not going to carry on talking about the boring stuff but it’s facts.

There have been so many times I’ve wanted to take a massive break from all social media’s and just concentrate on my blog but think, we as bloggers need these social media’s to boost traffic, make collaborations and to make us noticed. I’ve cut down on using social media because I used to use it so much especially at night so I get all my blog stuff done throughout the day and taking half hour breaks to rewind and concentrate on myself, I also spend less time on my phone in the evening as I know this can be quite bad so instead I will read a book or having a good pamper which I’ve been trying to do when learning to love myself. Taking time away from social media can be really beneficial for your mental health. I asked on both twitter and Instagram how many people had wanted to take a break from social media’s but actually haven’t, on twitter, 100% of people said they have wanted to take a break but haven’t and on Instagram 83% against 17% to wanting to take a break but haven’t.

All that being said, there are so many amazing things about social media that cannot be avoided, you can interact with life long family and friends if they life quite far away from you, you can make new friends which I have done through social media and I think that’s so special, I can also interact with the people that take the time to read my posts which I’m so grateful for. I think the main thing everyone needs to do is change their perspective on social media and not let it contradict your own self image and self worth.

When it comes to mental health disorders, I feel that social media can have its downfalls. I asked on both Instagram and Twitter whether social media boosts or minimises their self image, on twitter, 100% of people said that it minimised their self image 52% of individuals said it minimised their self image and 48% for boosting which is a huge difference to twitter. I also asked if social media has had an affect on their mental health and 60% out of 40% said it has on Instagram and 83% out of 17% said that it has also so their quite high numbers.

In my own experience, especially my eating disorder, some days, social media is almost impossible to use as I compare myself to everyone and it makes me feel even worse about myself and it has been known for social media to have a wide affect on anxiety, especially the way in which we perceive ourselves. Below, I am going to put a list of ways you can boost your mental health and mood when it comes to social media.

1. Have that break sis, even if it is only for half a day or even for an evening, having a small break from all social media’s and spend time with friends and family instead of sitting there and comparing yourself to others.
2. Go for a walk, WITHOUT your own, opening up your mind to the rest of the world and make you feel in touch with yourself which can also help with anxiety, sometimes when I’m feeling really anxious, I will sit there on my phone doing nothing about it but now I go for a long walk, have some fresh air and just have some alone time and when I get back, I’ll deal with the stress of social media.
3. Remember those friends you talk too on twitter DM’s that you’ve never seen in person? Organise that trip to see them (make sure you’ve known them for a while though and make sure their legit) 10/10 this will make your week and it will feel so much better than staring at a screen all day having a conversation, this can also boost your friendship.
4. Delete some of the toxic people from your socials, is there someone you still have on your Facebook that you haven’t got round to deleting that whenever you see a post from them it makes you sad? Delete them, it will make you feel so much better.

Autumnal Makeup Look

A post I haven’t written for as long as I can remember is a makeup look so I thought I would finally write one today because as its coming to Autumn, I’ve been changing up my makeup recently to fit the season and I’m so excited about this. When I think about Autumnal makeup, all I can see is reds, oranges and dark lips which has got to be my favourite colours of makeup so you can probably tell how obsessed I am with Autumn. I have recently got back from Rome and I picked up some beauty bits from duty free and Sephora which I’m really excited about testing out in this post, i’ll let you know what products I brought in Rome when it comes to it.

CONCEALER

I’ve banged on about this concealer endlessly on my blog so I’m pretty sure your sick of hearing about it but I’m using the Collection lasting perfection concealer, it’s so good at covering absolutely everything, I use this on my blemishes and under eyes and magically, I don’t look half dead, I use shade extra Fair.

POWDER

This is a super basic step but I’m using Rimmel powder, I have very oily skin, this is a must else the rest of my skin will melt off during the day, yes that sounds horrible.

CONTOUR & HIGHLIGHTER

This is my FAV base product and it is a must for me as I have skin that is as pale as a ghost so having contoured skin is something I defo need. The product I’m using is the Revolution Contour and Highlight which for the price is awesome, its only £3.50 so I’d 10/10 recommend, I have mine in the shade 1. I love using more subtle highlighter when it leads into the Autumn and Winter so this highlighter in this palette is really good for that.

BROWS

Having the best Brow product is a must for me as I don’t have any natural eyebrows because I’m that fair so having my brows looking like sisters is an essential. The product I’ve been loving using on my brows is my Revolution Brow Pomade which I feel is really good for a precise brow. The shade I use is Medium Brown for reference.

EYESHADOW

The normal palette I use when it comes to making Autumn looks is my Revolution Flawless 4, this has so many browns and reds in which is perfect for Autumn. For this look I’m not going to do anything too dramatic as I want the lips to be the centre of attention. I took the dark red shade in this palette and I ran this through my crease and on my lower lash line, I took one of the browns to deepen it up and then I took the pale shimmery shade and ran that on my inner corner to brighten it up.

LINER

The bit that makes or breaks a makeup look, liner. This is the part I find really difficult to get right but you’ve got to remember, their meant to look like sisters, not twins. Winged liner is a must and I feel it really brings the eye look together. The liner I use is Miss Sporty Liner which is super affordable and works really well. I will also use Miss Sporty Kohl Liner on my lower lash line to darken up the look and bring the whole look together.

MASCARA

There’s not a lot of explaining needed for mascara because I’m sure everyone knows how to do this. The mascara I use is Miss Sporty Booster Mascara and apply quite a lot of layers on my top and lower lashes to somewhat make it look like I have naturally long eyelashes.

LIPS

Something I’m so excited about is this lipstick purchase as I’ve wanted this lip colour for as long as I can remember, Sephora Lip Liner which I’m absolutely in love with, I think it’s the perfect colour for Autumn and I’m going to use this non stop throughout Autumn and Winter so it was definitely worth the spend. I got this in duty free so it made it way more affordable.

This is the completed look, I’m obsessed with it, whats your Autumn makeup must have? I may need to purchase some more makeup. Thank you for reading!

Rome Diary: 72 hours in Rome 2018, Day 1

I haven’t even wrote any of this post yet but I can already tell It’s one of my favourite posts. So, in today’s post, I’m going to be telling you about my trip to Rome which I absolutely loved. Technically, if you take out the first day where I practically slept the whole day because we didn’t sleep much at all, me and my boyfriend were in Rome for a total of 72 hours.

Being able to finally travel has made me the happiest person I could ever be and it has enlightened my soul and I can’t wait to explore the rest of the world. The time I’m writing this I’ve only been back from the airport a couple of hours and I’m already planning my next trip and that makes me so excited also.

A short round up of the first day where we were travelling, the flight was at 6:30 which is most definitely the earliest I’ve ever left my bed. we left for the airport around 2, we stayed in a hotel right next to London Stansted so it didn’t take long at all to get to the airport. As this was my first ever flight, I was so nervous, it wasn’t as bad as I’d anticipated which I already expected, I hate taking off and I also hate landing but I LOVE being up in the air, its absolutely beautiful and I love the view, I practically slept through most of the flight but of course I had to get some shots first.

Once we got to the airport, we had to wait for our transfer to get to the hotel, we mis-interperated how long it would take us to get to the hotel and how far it was from the central. We got to drive through the whole of Rome so it was so lovely to see all the sights beforehand so we can everything that were going to see throughout the trip. Once we got to the hotel, we had a really quick walk and we stayed in the Ibis Roma and it was definitely worth the money, even though we had to get the train to the central. I loved the view from the hotel, we then practically slept for the rest of the day and got a quick pizza from the restaurant from round the corner.

The first official day has got to be my favourite day, the first thing we did that morning was get ready, that day I wore my favourite dress from Boohoo and I had my hair in two small french braids and it looked so cute. I also used my red bag from Primark which was so handy to use and it made it so much easier to keep it by my side as I’ve heard Rome is famous for pick pocketing.

We spent around an hour trying to find a ticket to get on the train and bus as you can’t buy tickets like you can in the UK so we had to get one beforehand but we couldn’t find them anywhere but when we finally did, we hopped on the train and made our way into Rome. When we got to the train station we then brought a 3 day transport was which was only 18 euro which is so cheap for the amount of times we used it. We then had to go in the underground to get to the terminal. The first place we stopped off at was the Colosseum which I was so excited about and it was everything it lived up to be. It was so beautiful, we didn’t decide to go on a tour because we weren’t overely interested but I was so overwhelmed with how pretty it actually was.

img_9225

We sat there for a while to take in the view because it was absolutely beautiful and I just couldn’t believe I was actually there, I cried quite a few times because this is everything I’ve been waiting for. On another note, at the same time I noticed that I had quite a few mosquito bites which were so itchy so something I’d recommend taking into consideration when going to Italy, especially Rome, take some mosquito repellent or get some cream to help heal them as I had to pay quite a lot for it so I’d recommend purchasing beforehand.

We then went into the actual central where everything else was and our next stop was the Altare della Patria which looked absolutely beautiful, this was one of the places my boyfriend really wanted to see and I understand why. We took a while going up the steps and when we reached the top I was so amazed.

Once we got to the top we went through the museum part which was so interesting and educational which I love. We sat up at the top for a while because we definitely needed the break, we got so many beautiful photos from the top.

img_9334

We then headed to Trevi Fountain which I was definitely most excited for. When I was researching Rome and all the sights etc I’ve always been drawn to Trevi Fountain and I love that everyone throws a coin to make a wish and will let you come back, its so sweet. When we got there I was so overwhelmed with how beautiful it was and I just wanted to sit there looking at it forever. It has so much history and all I wanted to do was find out more!

We didn’t really do much else when we left Trevi, one exciting thing though was heading to Sephora, I’ve heard so many amazing things about Sephora and I was so excited to splash some cash while I was there, which I didn’t really end up doing as they didn’t have half the things I wanted, I will be doing a haul in the next week off everything I brought from Rome so I will tell you there everything I picked up from Sephora. We also headed to Zara and Bershka but unfortunately I didn’t pick anything up! We then headed back to our hotel and chilled for the rest of the evening, we also headed down to the restaurant in the hotel to have some pasta, we basically lived off pizza and pasta on this trip but why go to Italy and eat anything less?

Day one of our trip has got to me my favourite out of the 3, I was overly excited throughout the whole day and it made me so happy. As this post is longer than I’d anticipated, I’ll be uploading day 2&3 of this trip on Friday at 9AM, one thing I’ve learnt from day one is that everything and everyone has some sort of history but it still means its beautiful. My favourite thing from day one has got to be Trevi Fountain, I wish I could live in Rome just so I could go and see it everyday.

Thank you so much for reading, have you been to Rome? what was your favourite thing about your trip? or Have you always wanted to go to Rome and what has attracted you to going there?? Mine was definitely the history and the sights.

A Journey to Accepting and Growing to Love Myself (Eating Disorder Story)

DISCLAIMER: IF YOU FIND TALKING AND READING ABOUT EATING AND EATING DISORDERS OR ANY FORM OF MENTAL HEALTH WHICH WILL BE MENTIONED IN THIS POST (ANXIETY & DEPRESSION) UNCOMFORTABLE AND FIND THIS TRIGGERING; PLEASE CLICK OFF THIS POST, THANK YOU X

So, This is definitely something I haven’t fully achieved as of yet but I am on that journey to accepting myself for who I am and in turn growing to love myself, it almost seems impossible when I’m wring this but it is definitely something I want to achieve in the near future. I felt that writing this post can be quite eye opening to quite a lot of people and sometimes, when I’m feeling low, I need someone to talk to but I thought, if you are someone who is feeling low, you could read this and understand that you are not alone. I don’t really know where this is going to go but I guess you’ve come for the ride, lets just see.

A bit of background, if you don’t know me and this is the first post you’ve stumbled across, I’m 19, I have history of having depression and self harm which I have overcome but some days I suffer with relapse, I have social anxiety which is something a lot of people can relate to, it helps quite a lot knowing I’m not alone. Over the past year or so, I’ve had a really hard time with Body Dysmorphic disorder and I feel like it has swallowed up my life. This is quite a long story which I have mentioned in a previous post if you’d like to check that out after this read, Body Dysmorthic Disorder; my weight loss journey. Long story short, in March, I had this realisation that I had been putting on some weight and I wanted to change my lifestyle to a more fit and healthier one but I rushed it and I suffered with Bulimia for a short period of time and I also became obsessed with losing weight and would constantly check to see if there was a noticeable change in my weight, this would consist of checking the mirror 10 times a day which I still currently do, for as long as I can remember, I haven’t felt comfortable in my own skin.

I’ve noticed a lot only recently how many people, of all ages and genders who actually suffer with some sort of a mental illness and that is really shocking for me to read and in today’s society, there are LOADS of contributing affects to mental health such as social media as it is so full with negativity and expectations that everyone feels they need to achieve when in reality, we don’t. I’m not going to ramble to much about social media as it will be something I’ll talk about in a further post if your interested. Myself and A LOT of other people suffer from self-esteem issues which I feel has grown dramatically in this day of age which is also closely related to social media. I wish, one day, the wide world of social media is replaces with love and everyone learns self-love because everyone deserves it, don’t they?

Why do so many people judge themselves by the way they look? Is it because they don’t see their real beauty for themselves or is because they don’t feel as if it will be accepted by the people around us? Why is it we try so hard to fit in, why do we feel outcasted? we’re no different to anyone else and I wish we could all just accept ourselves and give ourselves some self-love every once in a while.

I and many others tend to compare ourselves to other people, why do we do that? I can’t count the amount of times I’ve strolled through my insta feed and saw so many influencers who dress and look better than I do and have a higher social following and then I will go to my insta and compare it but why? Everyone is completely different and I’d much rather be myself than copy someone else so stop comparing yourself to others, maybe use those influencers as motivation for your images but never think yourself of any less. I did a cheeky poll on my Twitter to actually see how many people compare themselves to others and a massive 80% of people compare themselves to others on a daily basis.

Recognise your accomplishment’s and write them down, even if their not accomplishments to others. The other week I only looked in the mirror once and that was to look at my outfit and even if that was just for one day, I didn’t feel self-conscious and that’s one step ahead to accepting yourself. Even though something you’ve achieved may not be seen as an accomplishment to others, it is to you so be proud and use these as motivation in the future the push yourself.

So many people who I’ve spoken to have talked to me about experiencing negative thoughts but kick them in the ass and think positive, it’s much easier said than done but this will 100% boost your mood and will help in accepting yourself. So for example, on an every day basis I tend to ask myself ‘Am I skinny enough’ ‘Will I ever be as skinny as them’ these are not going to help to accept yourself and you should just think, are these good thoughts and are they making you happy, if no, change them.

I think the main thing we all need to learn to do is to not depend on others to feel worth something, you don’t need someone else to tell you on an everyday basis that your perfect the way you are because you can do that yourself, if you love your outfit, complement yourself, the only person in this world that needs to accept you is YOU, no one else, you’ll never truly accept and love yourself until you do.

All these tips are definitely a lot easier said than done and there are definitely days where I need that kick up the bum to accept myself, if your ever having a down day, I’ve put together some tips that I’ve learnt from experience that may help:

  1. GET GLAM: Something I love to do when I’m feeling down and not loving myself is to either, have a really good pamper, a face mask the lot or to just get glam, do your makeup, hair and put on an outfit that makes you feel sexy, you don’t need to go anywhere but as long as this gives you that confidence boost you need, whats the harm?

  2. WRITE IT DOWN: Something I tend to do when I’m feeling down is to write it down, this helps to release stress and getting it down on paper can make you feel a lot clearer and sometimes that’s all you need, reassure yourself, make sure you remember that things get better and you can accept and love yourself, if you can do it once, what’s stopping you from doing it again.

  3. TAKE A BREAK FROM SOCIAL’S: Trust me, it will help, simply having a break from social media can give you the head space that you need instead of constantly focusing on the negatives and the questioning whether your good enough. Social media is a dangerous place so be careful but don’t let anyone put you down.

  4. TURN THOSE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS INTO POSITIVES: Are you sitting there feeling self-conscious and need some TLC? Treat yourself to that dress you’ve had your eye on for a while, turning those negative thoughts into positives is probably the most important thing you can do, don’t dwell on the negatives, brighten up your life with the positives.

I hope this post is somewhat helpful and I hope you enjoyed this roller coaster of a post, it’s something I find really hard to talk about and making it into a positive and knowing this can be helpful to others, makes me happy. What do you do when you need some TLC to make yourself happy? I’d love to know, let me know in the comments, Thank you so much for reading x

My Autumn Fashion Must haves

Good morning, so Autumn is coming around super quick and I’ve been trying to get my Autumn basics sorted as it’s got so cold recently and I absolutely love Autumn, its my favourite season so I was super excited about starting my Autumn posts. I thought I would put together a basics list as it may be useful for anyone who hasn’t got their basics under wraps. I’ll link some similar items at the end of this post if your looking to get any of these items.

Black Chelsea boots & tie up boots

Boots, probably my favourite thing to purchase when it starts to become colder. I’ve accumulated quite a few pairs over the years and I definitely have a favourite. I love black heeled boots and I got some from Primark a year ago and they tie up in the front and I love them, I can’t wait to incorporate them into my outfits more. The best places for heeled boots would probably be Primark and they do some really good ones in Shoe Zone which I’d recommend. I tend to wear boots with a dress and a cardigan which is super cute and they also look really nice with mom jeans.

Long sleeved scooped neck tops

Long sleeved tops are definitely an essential when it comes to Autumn. The place that I tend to buy these from is Primark where they are only £3.50 which is definitely a bargain. I have these in so many colours and Black is probably my favourite as these go with everything and they also look super cute on their own when it isn’t as cold. I especially love the scooped neck look as it adds something nice to the outfit and it doesn’t make you feel horrible because I tend to feel quite covered up in the Autumn and winter.

Leapord Print skirt

Leapord print has became my all time favourite pattern on clothing recently and I’m so happy its came into Autumn. I purchased a really basic one from inthestyle and I couldn’t be more obsessed and it was only £3.99 which is such a steal. This looks so good with anything and I think it is a staple for the Autumn. I’ve had my eye on this one from Topshop which also comes as a co-ord which I’m in love with but I don’t have that kind of money at the moment but I’m defo thinking of purchasing the skirt.

Tweed scarf

Earlier on in the summer when Primark started to bring out their Autumn pieces I fell in love with this tweeded pattern scarf which I’ve been searching for, for a while. This pattern is quite close to home and it makes me really happy knowing I’ve got something in this pattern. A scarf is such an essential for the Autumn winter so having the perfect one is amazing.

Grey long line coat

For a while now I’ve been thinking of what kind of coat I want for this year and I had my heart set on a grey long line coat which I thought would be perfect with any outfit and it does. This is such a bargain but I found the exact coat I wanted in a charity shop for only £2 and I was so happy to find it.

Black and white cardigan

Something that is definitely an essential for Autumn/winter are cardigans and the main colours have got to be black and white, these go with everything and their definitely a basic you need in your wardrobe. I’ve seen some really cute ones from Isawitfirst and their only £12 which is such a bargain but they’ve been out of stock for a while but I can’t wait for them to come back in stock so I can get my hands on them.

Mustard jumper

A mustard coloured jumper is definitely a basic that I feel is essential for Autumn especially. I love this colour as it is perfect for Autumn and it goes so well with so many things. I have these tartan trousers and they look so so nice with them. Jumpers are a necessity anyway but for Autumn, mustard is a must have.

Jumper dresses

Something I’ve loved for many years has got to be a jumper dress, these are such a basic item but they are so easy to style and they go so well with boots. I’ve had my eye on a pink one from Isawitfirst and I might have to purchase it. I have this khaki one from H&M for years now and I’m still in love with it so i’d definitely recommend one for Autumn and this would go lovely with a denim jacket.

Blue mom jeans

My favourite piece of clothing that I love to wear all year round has got to be mom jeans. They literally go with anything and I’ve had mine from Primark for years and they still look amazing. If you don’t own any mom jeans which if you don’t, what are you doing but you should definitely purchase some because they are a game changer.

Burgandy tie front skirt

I’ve been looking for the perfect skirt that isn’t bodycon because I’m very self conscious at the moment and I found this one in Primark, it was only £10 which is so affordable. It is the perfect length especially for putting biker shorts underneath which is perfect. It is also super flattering which I really like, the tie waist makes your waist look smaller so it is super flattering on the stomach, the button down detail is an amazing touch because it makes the skirt look so much more expensive. What I really like about this skirt is that I brought it in the summer but I can definitely wear it in the Autumn because of the colour which is amazing. I can definitely see myself wearing this with a long sleeved black top, skirt and tights with boots.

These are all my Autumn must haves that I’m going to mention in this post, if you can think of anymore, let me know in the comments. Thank you so much for reading, I really hope you enjoy, this is the first of my Autumn posts but there will be many more. Until next time x

Travelling with Panic Attacks and Anxiety

You may think your Anxiety and Panic Attacks are going to stop you from travelling but guess what, however hard it is, their not. Travelling has always been something I’ve been wanting to do and having anxiety about it isn’t making it an exciting experience. Being nervous and facing your fears can be hard and scary but lets face it, we can’t let our Anxiety win. I’ve came to the realisation now that you need to push yourself and as soon as you do it, you will feel so much better in doing so.

Fortunately for you, I’m going to be sharing some of my tips on how you can manage your anxiety while travelling so in turn, you can enjoy your trip.

Use distractions, such as reading a book

When your on the plane or even train or any form of transport, you should try to keep yourself occupied and distracted, this will make travelling so much easier. It is important to put your focus elsewhere instead of bringing all your focus to your anxiety and everything that is happening around you because this will only make it worse and it may bring on a panic attack. Use all the negative thoughts you may have about travelling and all the negative things that could go wrong and turn them into positive scenarios such as the destination and how you will feel when you’ve finally accomplished travelling and reached the place, this will help you to feel positive about the while situation. The one thing I’m thinking of bringing is a journal to distract myself and to write about the experience so I can keep it documented.

Stay relaxed

Being comfy in where you are sitting can make you feel comfortable and can also make you feel at home and this can calm down your anxiety. Make sure you breath in and out and focusing on your breath can keep you calm and stop you from having a panic attack. You could also try and get into a yoga position to help bring awareness to the body and mind which will help combat anxious feelings.

Be prepared for the trip

One of the main reasons I get anxious is having the feeling of forgetting something or something going wrong so making a list of everything you need and make sure, before going to check if you have every single thing. Also, be prepared for the feelings you are going to feel when you are on the transport and think of the things you are going to do to combat them. Practise these techniques when you start to get to get anxious before the trip because if your anything like me, I get anxious around a month before so see if these techniques work and which one works best for you.

Accept your going to get anxious and don’t try to stop it

Something I tend to do a lot is trying to stop myself from getting anxious but that isn’t going to help because you will just feel bad for feeling anxious when it is totally normal. The best thing to do is just accept that your going to become anxious and deal with it on your own terms and use your own ways to stop yourself from being anxious or at least help.

These are all the tips I have when it comes to having anxiety and panic attacks while travelling, just remember that it’s totally normal to be anxious and people won’t think any different of you if you have a panic attack. Use distractions but don’t force yourself to do anything. Thank you so much for reading, if you do, let me know in the comments, also, there will be an exciting blog post on Friday, it’s going to be my Autumn fashion must haves, until then x

My August Monthly Favourite’s

As every other month, August has flown by and I can’t believe how fast it has actually gone, the last time I looked it was only the start. In today’s post I’m going to be telling you my August Monthly Favourites, these are going to vary from my fashion, makeup and book favourites, I’ve been trying to read more books this month and I’ve enjoyed it so much so I’ll be letting you know my favourites. Let me know in the comments what your monthly favourite is because I’d love to know.

Black Frill sleeve dress from Boohoo

With clothing this month, I’ve been focusing on purchasing clothes for when I go to Rome in 4 days at the time your reading this and I’m so excited. I saw this dress everywhere in Instagram and it looked so good on so many people so I decided to purchase it and I’m so happy I did because I feel so nice in it and its so nice having a dress in which you feel sexy in and that’s this dress. If your looking for the perfect black dress then I’d definitely recommend this dress, here is the link, Boohoo dress, it also comes in white too which I’m really temped to get.

All the bright places, Jennifer Niven

Before reading this book, I featured it on my Instagram stories and so many people warned me that my heart would be broken at the end and I underestimated it but it was definitely true. You will experience a whirlwind of emotions when reading this book, I’d definitely recommend it, its such a motivational book and focuses widely on mental health. If you’ve read this book, let me know in the comments your thoughts, I’d love to know.

Tweed scarf

Now that it’s starting to get colder which I’m so happy about, I’ve been looking for the perfect scarf for the year and I’ve been loving the tweed pattern and I really wanted a scarf in this pattern and I found one for £4 in Primark which is such a steal. Its so in style this year and I’m so happy I got my hands on this scarf. I’ve only been able to wear it once because it hasn’t been as cold as I expected but I cant wait for the upcoming months to wear it.

Grey Blazer style coat

Now, this is probably the biggest steal of the month, I’ve been looking for a grey blazer style coat for a while now because I knew this was the coat I wanted for this Autumn and Winter. I was in my local charity shop which has half price on women items and I found the exact coat I wanted but the only problem was, it was a size 16 but at least it will be easier to wear jumpers underneath. okay, I’ve saved the best part till last, I got it for £1.98, what an absolute bargain, I’m so lucky because I was going to buy the same one from Primark for £20 so I’m so happy I didn’t.

Mamma Mia: Here we go again

My favourite film of the whole entire year has got to be Mamma Mia 2 and I don’t think anything else will top it. It makes me feel so happy and I feel I can relate to Donner quite a lot during the film as I really want to travel as soon as I finish university and I’d absolutely love to go to Greece, I had to try my hardest not to pack up my bags and go to Greece which I feel many people can agree with. It’s such a feel good film and I can’t wait for it to come out on CD so I can’t watch it 10 times a day.

My tattoo

This month, I finally booked up the courage to book to have my first tattoo, if you haven’t already seen, I’ve uploaded my tattoo experience on my blog, My experience of getting a tattoo. Now that I’ve had my first tattoo, I want so much more, they are quite painful to get put i’m absolutely in love with mine and the pain is 100% worth it. My advice to anyone who is planning or wants a tattoo, the pain isn’t as bad as you may think but it is totally different, the pain only lasts for as long as it takes for the tattoo to be done and I wish I’d had mine done sooner so just do it, thank me later.

Exercising

My anxiety has been sky high this month and I’ve done so many things I’ve been scared to do like having my tattoo and I’ve been really anxious for my flight which I’ll be going on in 2 days when your reading this. One of the things which has helped me the most has got to be exercising, I probably mention exercising in all my favourites but it has definitely changed my life and I can’t wait to go to the gym. I do a 45 minute workout every two days and the other days I will do a short 20 minute workout and you may think exercising at home won’t make a difference but since being at home from university away from a gym, I’ve lost more weight over these past 2 months while being at home. Exercising isn’t always workouts, you could also go for a long walk which I find really enjoyable especially when I’m anxious.

Red Mini Shoulder bag

For £6 from Primark I purchased a red shoulder bag for when I go to Rome but it has soon become my favourite bag. I highly regret not getting more colours, they come in black, red, pink and navy and I wish I purchased them all because they are so handy for taking round the necessities, I also love having a shoulder bag because it is close to me and it minimises the risk of pick pocketing which is something I really don’t want. These bags also look so expensive so they really don’t look like they were £6.

These are all my August favourites, there aren’t many but September is the month where a lot is happening and I’m so excited for it, I’m going to Rome and I’ll be moving back to university which I’m really looking forward too, also, if you didn’t know, on the 17th of this month, I’ll be revamping my blog to personal so I will have my own domain and I’m hoping this will improve my blog and so I can put out better content for you. Let me know in the comments what your monthly favourite is, I’d love to know, thank you so much for reading, there will be a new post up on Wednesday where I’ll be talking about travel anxiety and what I will be doing to combat it. Also, I’ll be documenting my trip to Rome over on my Instagram so if your interested in seeing my trip, give me a follow on there. Until next time x

Travel Beauty Essentials

I’m going to Rome in a couple of weeks and I’ve been planning what beauty products I’m going to be taking abroad with me and I’m so excited to pack it all. In this post I’m going to be telling you the items I’m packing in my suitcase as some of you may find it quite useful if your struggling to narrow down what makeup you will actually need to take with you. I hope you enjoy and if you do, give this a like and a comment and if you want to see more from me, follow my blog for more.

Makeup I’m taking:

  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, shade 0
  • Rimmel Stay Matte powder, shade Translucent
  • Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit- Ultra Fair C01
  • Revolution Pomade in dark brown
  • MUA Makeup Academy in shade Fire Vixen
  • Miss Sporty Cat eye liner and pencil liner
  • Miss Sporty Mascara
  • Mac Liquid Lipstick- shade Burnt Spice

The reason I’ve decided to take these products because I use these on an everyday basis and they can be used in multiple ways especially the MUA Eye shadow Palette because there are so many different shades to choose from and so many different looks. I’ve also decided to take the Mac Liquid Lipstick in Burnt Spice because it goes with every single makeup look and you can decide how much you want to put on making it lighter or darker.

I’m also going to place all the liquids like the concealer and mascara and Liquid Lipstick into a sandwich bag because it makes it easier when going through security, with the powder products, I’m going to place all these into a small makeup bag and put these in my case and it won’t take up too much room.

Skincare Products I’m taking

  • Simple SPF 15 moisturiser
  • Rimmel Rose water toner
  • Simple small pack of makeup wipes
  • Rimmel Miceller water
  • The body shop Strawberry scented hand cream
  • The body shop Strawberry scented lip balm
  • The body shop Strawberry scented body cream

With most of these products, I’m going to place some of the products into small containers to fit the 10 ml restrictions of Ryanair (if you fly with Ryanair you know the problems), I’m taking so many of the body shop strawberry scented products because these are really good and the smell lasts a long time.

Other beauty products-

  • Travel size Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Travel size shower gel
  • Travel size SPF sun cream
  • Face masks
  • Eye masks and Nose strips
  • Deodorant

Travel size items are really good when going travelling because they all fit the restrictions of the Ryanair guidelines and another idea is to buy shampoo and conditioner while your there or in duty free because it free’s space in hand luggage. I’m also bringing face masks with me because I can’t go a few days without using a face mask, I think I’m a tad obsessed, I’m also bringing eye masks for on the plane because I’ve heard that the place journey can dry out your skin. These are all the products I’m taking to Rome with me, I really hope you enjoyed, if you did, make sure to give this a like, until next time x

How to pack your life in carry-on

I’ve never been abroad myself but I’ve soon come to realise that packing into carry-on is proving to be quite difficult. I’m going to be telling you my tips I have on how I’m going to be packing for my 5 day trip to Rome and I can only take carry-on. The thing I’m taking is a small suitcase which fits in with measurements. So, I guess your thinking how are you going to fit all your clothes and shoes and all the other bits into a small case that can only be 10kg? Then carry on reading and you fill find out. I’m also going to be flying with Ryanair and their restrictions are quite tight so if your also going to be flying with Ryanair, this is the post for you.

Roll up your clothes so you can fit more clothing into the case

Rolling up your clothes is a really good way of your clothing not being creased and it also saves more room rather than folding them up and placing them in. You can add way more clothing to the case if it is rolled up and it saves so much room.

Put your socks and underwear inside your shoes

Putting your socks and underwear in your shoes saves space as then they won’t just be flung in the case and it also puts them away somewhere making it easier for storage.

Don’t over-pack

Over packing is something I’m definitely guilty of but trust me, don’t over pack, remember how many days you are going for, you could even plan your outfits and only take the things you think you will need. It’s always best to maybe fill your case with only 6 kg because if you wan’t to buy things from Rome, remember you’ve got to get them home, then you have enough room to bring whatever you want back.

Make a checklist

Making a checklist can make it so much easier to pack everything you actually need instead of adding everything last minute and not even using them, this stops you from going overboard and packing way too much.

Remember to put your liquids in a sandwich bag and place in hand luggage

If your like me and planning to take quite a lot of liquids, remember to place all your liquids in seperrate containers that fit the 10 ml restrictions and then put them in a sandwich bag because this is the only way it will go through security. These are all my tips for packing light, I really hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any more recommendations, let me know in the comments, until next time x

How I’ve Lost The Weight I have in 4 months

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. Today I’m going to be writing another Fitness post which I haven’t wrote in what feels like forever. I’ve lost quite a lot of weight over the past 4 months and I’ve been asked by various people how I’ve lost the weight I have so I thought I would write a whole blog post about it. I really hope you enjoy this post, if you do, give it a like and leave a comment because I love to hear feedback from everyone and talk to you also if you’d like to see more from me, give me a follow for more.

Eating healthy and binning the junk food

Before I started my journey to loosing weight, I was guilty of having a lot of junk food and the occasional Mcdonald’s and KFC and I never used to eat any form of fruit and vegetables so when I started my journey, I ditched the junk food and ate loads of fruit and vegetables and I tried so many new fruit and I think that’s what motivated me the most, being able to try new fruit and being food adventurous.

Going to the gym and working out more

Going to the gym was probably the best decision I’ve ever made and it’s changed me so much and me not being able to go while being at home has been so annoying but I’ve been working out everyday for 30 minutes each day which has also improved my health so much. I can’t wait for September to be able to go back to the gym.

Walk 10,000 steps each day

Walking can be such a great way to get in shape and get healthier. 10,000 steps can build up quite quickly especially throughout the day so instead of catching the bus to your local town, why don’t you walk or if your taking your sister or brother to school, why don’t you walk them, you will see so many benefits from doing this.

Drink LOADS of water and cut out the fizzy drinks

There’s never too much water, water is such a great way of loosing weight and it is always a good tip, when you feel hungry, drink a glass of water first because you never know, you may just be dehydrated. It is always important to be hydrated and there are so many health benefits from this. If you get bored easily of water, why not add a slice of lemon because this can give a lot of flavouring to the water and there are sooooo many health benefits with lemon water. You should also cut out all the fizzy drinks because these contain so many calories which is really bad when losing weight.

Eat out only once every two weeks or month

One of the main reasons I put on so much weight is because I used to eat out quite a lot and the money you have from university goes over your head. I’ve restricted myself to eating out only once a month including Mcdonald’s and takeaways because these have so many calories which really doesn’t help when loosing weight.

Write down your goals and keep on top of them

Having goals will give you that motivation each day of what you want to achieve because like everything else, there will be set backs and that’s the time you need to pull through. Goals will also help you to see progress along the way, whether that’s a new weigh in each week or learning to cook a healthy meal, this will help you to see progress and keeps you motivated also.

Cut out dairy and meat

As I have Lactose intolerance and I’m Polo-vegetarian I’ve had to cut out all dairy products and I’ve also made the decision to cut out meat besides chicken because red meat is really bad for the environment and for the body and I’ve seen a massive improvement in my health and the way I look since cutting them out because I was always so bloated if I had anything dairy so cutting it out has been so amazing for my body. These are all the ways I changed up my diet and lost weight within 4 months, you shouldn’t push yourself to be unhealthy when losing weight, just do it naturally. If you have any questions, ask in the comments and until next time x

What I think of the H&M size range for someone who is a size 12, does it affect mental health?

Let’s talk about the H&M sizing, I think everyone has experienced some sort of problem in terms of H&M sizing especially in bottom’s because they run rather small. In my experience, I’ve had a lot of trouble when it comes to the way I perceive myself in the mirror and I’m a regular girl who is between the sizes of 10 and 12, In today’s post, I am going to be doing something different on my blog which I’ve wanted to do more of on here and I’m going to be expressing my view on the sizing and how it can effect mental health.

A few weeks ago, I wen’t into H&M as I was looking for some shorts and I spotted this black ones that were in the sale and I was looking through and I saw a size 12 and it honestly looked like a size 8, there was literally no way I was going to get these past my thighs and from someones perspective of having body dysmorphia and eating problem’s, this made me feel so much bigger than I actually was (in no way am I saying anyone who is a size 12 is perceived as being big its just my mental illness and I want to show my perspective through my own eyes so please don’t take offence). I’ve been suffering with body problems and eating problems for a while now which I may go into more detail in another post but I became obsessed with the weight I was and how I looked and I was always looking at my size in the mirror at least 10 times a day so I thought I would put this post out there to help others. In the changing rooms, I also tried on a size 14 and 16, I know, a 16 which is 2 sizes up from what I am in other stores and guess what, the size 14 hardly went up on my thighs and then I tried on the size 16 they fit perfectly but they were still quite small when it came to my thighs which obviously didn’t help at all. The size 14 almost looked like a size 10 and then the 16 fit like any normal 16 would. In the instance of this post and for the pure purpose of this post, I decided to purchase these shorts just to show a comparison of sizing when it comes to other sizes in different stores which fit me perfectly in a size 12. These are the images of the size 16 shorts compared to other size 12 jeans/bottoms from different high street stores etc.

When it comes to the effect on mental health and eating disorders, this made me see my body in such a different light for the next couple of days to probably a few minutes before trying on the shorts, if someone is experiencing a more broader mental illness to my own, I feel this can have a rather negative effect to someones mental health and I can honestly say, I didn’t want to eat for the next couple of days. In my own opinion, I think that H&M should amend their sizing or change the sizes on the products to a size lower than they are stating because it will help people when finding their correct size. Another thing I thought I would mention is I was looking at the size range in women jeans and the highest is a 20/22 but if I’m a size 12 and the lowest size that fits me is a size 16 then what about the individuals who are a bigger size to me? I think this can have a contributing effect to mental health because if the highest size doesn’t fit that individual, they may perceive themselves as being bigger than they are and this can contribute to eating disorders and body dysmorphia.

I asked you on twitter and Instagram for some of your opinions on the H&M and I thought I would add some just to show others opinions on the situation, one person said that if you don’t fit into the size you originally think you were, you will fear you have put on weight contributing to feeling bad about yourself which I 100% agree with. Another individual said that when they were 15/16 they had trouble with sizing and they were are 10/12 and also had to purchase a 16 which contributed with there eating disorder which I 100% agree with also and I can definitely relate. I also did a poll on twitter asking if everyone thinks the sizes need to be adjusted to actually fit the sizes presented on the label and I was shocked at the response, 100% of people who responded saying yes that H&M should adjust their sizing. I’ve also heard that they are changing up the sizing which is amazing. I want to say a massive thank you for the contribution to this post, I’ve really enjoyed having other opinions to add to this post.

Id love to hear what you guys think on this whole thing, lets start up a conversation in the comments! My next blog post will be up on Wednesday where I will be giving my advice on how to pack carry on so watch out for that but for now, thank you so much for reading, let me know if you’d like to see more posts like this on my blog! Until next time x

Things I Wish I knew before starting University

Are you wondering how different university is going to be to home life and if there’s anything you should know before you go out in the wide world and be independent, you’ve come to the right place, in today’s post I am going to be telling you the things I wish I knew before starting university, trust me, their are a lot. I’ve now got a year of experience of university under my belt so I’ve learnt quite a lot I didn’t know about university before starting. This is also the last instalment to my mini series based on university so if you’d like to check those out first then head to the university sector of my blog for more. If you enjoy, give this a like and if you have any questions, leave a comment also if you want to see more from me, follow my blog.

Your student Loan money is not free money so use it wisely, university doesn’t come cheap

Your student loan isn’t given to you for free to splurge on all the things you’ve never been able to afford, spending in university can be quite tight so it is always important to budget your money from the start, also remember when university ends, all this money needs to be paid back.

Your first year counts

Your first year of university is a massive roller coaster and it doesn’t come easy, they may say that year 2 and 3 are the most important because both these years contribute to your overall grade but use first year to learn about the system and how to write assignments and exams so don’t just miss some lectures in the thought of the year not counting.

Look after yourself both mentally and physically

It can be easy to forget about yourself mentally and physically because I know you can not go in the shower because you don’t have your parents telling you what to do so it is important to keep clean also when it come’s to food, feed yourself the same kind of food you would eat at home, learn new recipes and experiment with food because I know it can be easy to just order Domino’s every day.

Don’t leave referencing in your assignments till last

I’ve learnt this the hard way but leaving your referencing to last minute can a really bad idea because you may forget where you got the reference from the very beginning of your assignment so you should add your references as you go so you aren’t spending hours searching for the references of each quote.

The Student’s Flu is not a myth

Before starting university I remember hearing about the students Flu and I didn’t believe it to be true but I can tell you it is, I spent a week without speaking because I lost my voice so always come prepared, bring paracetamol and cold flu tablets, they will come in handy, trust me.

Enjoy every moment of university

I’ve learnt from my first year of university that university tends to fly by so enjoy every single moment, a great tip is to get everything done as soon as possible so you can go and have fun, university is one big roller coaster full of new opportunities, people and new experiences so go out and enjoy all of them. That’s the end of all the things I wish I knew before starting university and I really hope you enjoyed this series on blog, I’ve really hope you’ve enjoyed reading them just as much as I’ve loved writing them.

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Please comment any blog posts you would be interested in seeing and I will make sure to post them (I would really appropriate your feedback) If you have any questions or suggestions or would simply like to get in touch, my email is chlolauren21@icloud.com and I aim to email back within 24 hours!! Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Monday mid day for another post…

What to pack for University, the ultimate guide

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to be telling you the ultimate guide of what to pack for university because I’m guilty of packing way too much last year, I already have 2 blog posts up from this week based off university also so if you’d like to check them out first that would be amazing. I really hope this helps and you enjoy, if you do, make sure to give this a like and also a comment if you have any questions. If you’d like to see more from me, give my blog a follow for more.

I remember this time last year I was frantically looking for lists of things I definitely needed for university and I was eager to find some blog posts that answered all these questions for me which is why I started this series in the first place. As I luckily had an en-suite room which I loved, I had so many places to think about so today, I am going to put together a list of things you’re going to need for each part of your room and kitchen whether you have en-suite or not.

The bed area-

Duvet & Pillows and duvet cover

You have to remember that your room isn’t going to be massive and your bed is going to be the biggest sight for attention in the whole room so you should make it nice as possible and as cosy as possible because you are going to spend a lot of time in this room. Buy a thick duvet cover and most university dorms you will only need to buy a single duvet but if your lucky enough to have a bigger bed, that’s perfect, just check with the university before, also get a cute duvet cover that will go with the interior of your room, I picked white because it was simple but it really helped to brighten up my room and make it look cosy.

A throw and cushions

There’s nothing that makes a bed comfier than some throws and cushions, I’m not going to lie but I went a bit overboard when it came to purchasing throws and cushions because I ended up having 3 throws and 4 cushions haha but their a really good item for when it starts to get colder because your rooms aren’t going to keep all the cold out and if like me, the heater didn’t work for half the year so these throws came in very handy.

Mattress Protector

The reality of a university dorm room is that people have stayed in your accommodation before you so they have also slept in the same bed as you for the past year so I would definitely recommend purchasing a mattress protector, it will make it more hyginic and it will save the stress of someone else’s germs being on your bed because you never know what they’ve done in that bed.

Under-bed storage boxes

These can be really useful for people who have brought far too much clothes to university and want to store their winter or summer clothes in because they won’t need to be in the wardrobe. These are really good for things you have no where to put them because then they won’t be all over the place which is really good in a small room.

Desk and Wardrobe area-

Desk organisers

There’s nothing better than dividing up all your work so it is all organised.

Desk Lamp

If your accommodation is going to be anything like mine, there wasn’t much lighting in the room and when it went dark, I wouldn’t be able to see much so it is a good idea to get a desk lamp for them nights your staying up late trying to get your assignments done for the next day which I wouldn’t recommend.

Clothes hangers

These are really good for keeping your clothes from being creased and it is also a really good way of organising your clothing.

Bathroom-

Laundry basket

I would recommend getting a laundry basket because there’s nothing worse than having all your washing all over the place and it makes it so much easier to carry your laundry down to the washing places or if your going to be anything like me, waiting till you go home and getting your family to do it for you because it’s rather expensive.

Basket

This makes it so much easier to organise all your shampoo’s and conditioners and all your washing stuff and it being organised because there’s nothing worse than it being all over the bathroom.

Multiple Towels

This one may sound obvious but I can remember the amount of people who forgot towels. I would recommend getting multiple sizes of towels because they will always come in handy. Also I would recommend purchasing two big towels for when you’ve used your towel a couple of times and it saves you from washing your towels repeatedly.

Toothbrush and Tooth paste holder

These are really helpful for stopping your toothbrush from becoming contaminated and disgusting.

Bath mat

This stops the floor from getting soaked when you’ve just got out the shower, I remember when I first arrived at university and this guy forgot to use the shower curtain I don’t know why and then all the water soaked through to the downstairs flat.

Shower curtain

The one thing I needed to change immediately was the shower curtain, it was so plain and it just made my bathroom look dull so I changed it up straight away and it made it look so much better.

Kitchen-

Cutlery set inc plates and bowls and cups

This may seem dumb to put on the list but it’s a must, another good tip is to get some that are different colours because you may have to put your cutlery with other peoples so having them distinctive makes it so much easier.

Smoothie Maker

This is something that may not apply to everyone but if your really interested in keeping up your health and your guilty of leaving your fruit and veg before they go out of date, making a smootie is the perfect way of not wasting your money and getting all the nutrients you would get from the fruit and veg.

Trays, saucepan and frying pan

Having a few of each is perfect if your like me and you leave washing up till last minute so you have some spare for whenever else your going to cook.

Scissors and sharp knifes

Washing up stuff

Stationery

2 notebooks, 1 with divider’s

Having 2 notebooks can be really helpful for dividing your lecture notes and making a hard copy of the notes because I can bet your lecture notes are going to be so messy you won’t be able to read them in a few months so its a good idea to make a hard neat copy making it easier to revise.

A set of pens

This is pretty straight forward, you need something to write with.

Highlighters

Only some people like to highlight their work but it makes it really helpful at revising and highlighting the most important thing.

Diary/Plannner

Planning is a really good way of managing time and remembering everything you need to do because trust me, you do so much more at university than you may think.

Laptop and maybe a printer

A laptop is a really important thing that you will definitely need for university because you have to write all your assignments online and you can also type up your notes making it quick and easier to revise.

Important Documents (id recommend putting all these into a folder)-

Passport/ Drivers Licence, form of ID

Medical documents- eye test, doctors

National Insurance Number

NCS card for all those discounts

Bank account details

CV

Discount travel card- rail card with Santander and coach with Natwest

These are all the things you will need to take to university, it may seem like a lot but trust me when its all in the rooms, it will look like nothing. If you have anything else to add, let me know in the comments also if you have any questions, also let me know in the comments. I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) The DO’S and DON’TS Of Being A Fresher and starting university

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. Today is the second instalment of my week of university posts, If you haven’t already read yesterdays blog post, I would recommend reading that first, it includes my advice on starting and preparing for university. In today’s post I’m going to be telling you the do’s and dont’s of being a fresher and starting university, because there’s a lot. I really hope this post helps. If you like this post, make sure to give this a like and also leave a comment with any questions you may have because I love communicating with you, also if your interested in seeing the rest of the blog posts throughout the week or simply want to read more from me, give me blog a follow.

The DO’s

Pack and unpack everything as soon as possible, there’s no point starting this too late because you will soon realise that it will take a long time to pack everything, much longer than you’d initially think. You should also unpack everything as soon as you arrive at university, this is because the kitchen can become very cramped the first day you move in so unpacking all your kitchen things as soon as possible helps stop the mad rush into the kitchen and it becoming cramped. This also helps to make yourself feel at home and being in a clear space can make you feel so much calmer because starting university can be very stressful so getting everything done as soon as possible can be good. I would also recommend leaving your door open while you unpack because it can make your flat mates feel more welcomed to talk to you and it can make it easier to spark a conversation because there’s nothing worse in not knowing what to say to someone.

Go to as many social events as possible, this is really important for making friends and having a social life which is really important at university because you’ve moved out and you need friends around you. Remember, everyone is in the same boat as you and is waiting for someone to reach out to them and talk to them so always spark a conversation with someone because you never know, they may become your best friend at university.

Find the time to explore the area of your university especially the grounds of the university. There is a lot to explore when you get to university, its a great opportunity really so take it as it comes, it can also feel quite overwhelming so always do it with a friend because that can build a friendship. It is also a good idea to find out where your first lecture will be based because there’s nothing worse than turning up to your first lecture late and this will stop the anxiety from being all over the place on the morning of not knowing where your lecture is.

Learn to cook a few meals before going to university because in the first month, I was guilty of only purchasing Domino’s and takeaways because I had no idea what to cook, cooking is really fun when your cooking something new. Obviously have the occasional takeaway but don’t rely on these as your meals and using it as an excuse not to go into the kitchen and cooking yourself a meal, also don’t just live off pasta because that is something else I’m guilty off.

The DON’Ts

Don’t drink or binge drink if you don’t want to, I’ve seen so many people at my university who will drink just to fit in with others and you shouldn’t do it to please people, no matter how many friends you wish to have. Also, control how much you drink because there’s nothing worse than embarrassing yourself in front of people you’ve only just met because trust me, they will use it against you for a long time. Also, don’t act like someone your not because people will like you for the way you are and the real friends will 9 out of 10 chances, love you for who you are.

Don’t get into a habit of going home every time you are feeling homesick, this can make it so much worse, the best thing to do is to leave it another week so you are able to adjust into your new living environment and it will soon fade, yes I still miss living at home whenever I’m at university and I’m loving the time I’m having at home over the summer but when I first started university, I would go home every weekend because a lot happened the first couple weeks of university and I felt really anxious so going home was the only thing that helped but in the long run, it didn’t help at all because I was becoming reliant on it but it felt so much better being able to be at university and becoming way more independent.

Don’t splash all your student loan at once, I know it can be exciting to have all this money you got for free but remember you have to pay it back in the future and learning from experience, the money can go fast and there’s nothing worse than being knee deep in overdraft and struggling to pay for food. On the other hand, don’t not spend because then you won’t have fun so my advice is to make a money plan and plan out how much your going to spend on food and the essentials each week and pay your rent as soon as you get your student loan so you know exactly how much money your going to have. These are all the do’s and don’ts to freshers and starting university, I really hope this helps, thank you so much for reading and my next blog post will be up tomorrow x

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Ultimate Freshers Guide to starting and preparing yourself for University

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So this week I am going to be uploading a weeks worth of blog posts so from Monday to Friday at 9AM all about going to university and my tips on university. To start the week off I am going to be telling you numerous tips to starting and preparing yourself for starting university. I have just finished my first year of university and I’m going to be going in to year 2 which I’m very excited about. I am going to give you tips on a range of things ranging from the university course to making friends to living in dorms, I really hope you enjoy this week and find it helpful because I wish I had read some blog posts before going to university so I knew what to expect. If you like this post, make sure to give this a like also leave a comment because I’d love to hear feedback and I love talking to you, also, if you have any questions related to university, let me know in the comments because I’m going do a Q&A later on in the week. If your interested in seeing more blog posts from me and want to see the rest of the blog posts throughout the week, give my blog a follow.

Join the university Facebook group and find people in the same accommodation as you and same course

The thing that helped me the most about going to university was joining the university Facebook group and trying to find people who were in the same accommodation as me and on the same course. I found this really helpful because I managed to find 2 out of the 5 people who were going to live in my accommodation and I was able to message then and get to know them a bit more which was amazing because it made me feel more confident and comfortable with moving to university because you have to live with these people for a year so it’s good to get to know the people you are living with. I also managed to find enough people who were doing the same course as me so I started up a group where we could all talk and get to know one another and this is where I got to know two of my best friends.

Read Lists on what you need to bring to university and only buy what you need

I am guilty of buying way more things than I actually needed when I first moved into university and I don’t think I used them once when I arrived at university now this year I’m not even going to purchase anything till I’ve moved into my accommodation to save some money and to only buy the things I need. The one thing I would recommend is reading more blog posts on what people would recommend taking to university which I will be writing a blog post about later on in the week so keep an eye out for that. This can be really helpful if you have no idea what you will actually need for university. Another thing I would recommend is DON’T GO OVERBOARD WITH STATIONARY, I am guilty of going all out with stationary and buying all these folders when the only thing I ended up using was 2 notebooks throughout the year, a pen and some highlighter’s which is definitely all you need at university, trust me.

Buy a Freshers wristband

Going to all the freshers event when you actually move to university is a very good way of meeting new people and getting to know what university is like and the opportunities available to you. If you like clubbing, I would really recommend buying the university Freshers wristband because this will save you so much money with entry to the clubs and I really wish I’d done this so I’m going to relive my freshers week this year which I’m so excited for. Also, don’t feel pressured to drink, there are so many people at university who feel pressurised to drink because everyone is doing it but you definitely shouldn’t, you can also have fun without being drunk. I would also recommend going to places you’ve been asked to go to, if someone has asked you whether you want to go to a flat party, definitely go because flat parties are soooo good for meeting new people and I have made so many friends from going to flat parties so definitely go.

Print EVERYTHING out, I mean everything

Something that really helped throughout the year of university was having everything printed out, such as, student finance details, university details, student bank account details, these are all things that are really important and you might need them multiple times throughout the year. I would recommend placing all of these documents into a folder which you can easily store and keep everything safe. Throughout the year I’ve needed multiple documents for enrolling onto university and signing for my year 2 house, these are all important things that you should prepare for in advance. Its also good to know how much money your going to receive from student finance because then you can make a money plan which helps to save money when you start university, I’m guilty of blowing all my money the first term of university, its part of the experience but its not nice ahaha. Also, sign up for your local universities doctors, this is really important because you never know when your going to fall ill at university and you don’t want to go to an emergency doctors.

Your going to be offered free things, TAKE THEM

Within freshers week, you are going to be offered loads of things for free and I would 100% recommend taking them, there will also be a freshers fair where you can ask any questions you may have and they will offer you free things and you should take them. You never know when that pen/keyring/notebook may come in handy. You should also take the free food they give you because you will be so thankful when your running out of student loan and you need some food. I would also recommend signing up for multiple clubs, I can’t say I did but I do regret not doing it because this is also a great way of meeting new people who are interested in the same things as you. I was also able to go to the gym for free for a year which was amazing but I did neglect this opportunity up until Christmas but I was really thankful for it after Christmas when I wanted to lose weight and I’m definitely going to pay to go back to the gym when I go back to university. These are only the small amount of tips I have for preparing for university, if your going to university in September, you really shouldn’t feel nervous, its the best experience ever and you will learn so much about yourself, thank you so much for reading and I really hope this helps, if you have any further questions, feel free to leave any questions in the comments and I will be back tomorrow for another post about university, until tomorrow x

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Ways to Save up money for Travelling

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. I’ve been thinking recently of what I want to achieve with my blog and what I want to write more about and that’s travelling. Travelling is one of my favourite things to do and one of my favourite blog posts to read so I’ve decided to incorporate travel into my blog more and I really hope you enjoy them. I really hope you enjoy this blog post, if you do, make sure to give it a like and a comment because I love hearing feedback and communicating with you, also if you’d like to read more from me, make sure to give my blog a follow.

So saving money, it’s such a tricky thing especially when your saving up for something you need a lot of money for, travelling can be quite expensive so finding the money to go can be quite difficult but if you save, that can make it so much easier. I’ve been saving up in multiple ways over the past year to save up for going somewhere and fortunately, I’ve been able to afford to go to Rome for a couple of days which I’m looking forward too. In today’s post, I am going to be telling you some ways you can save money for travelling no matter how old you are.

Get a part time job

The most simplest way to go about saving money is having a job because having an income can be important and if you keep a bit aside each month, the amount will soon build up and you will have enough money to go travelling in a couple of months. If your a teenager and you go to school, I would recommend getting a weekend job because a few hours a week can really add up. If your a bit older and have money responsibilities, I would recommend also keeping a bit of money aside each month because it will soon add up, maybe save spending more money on shopping etc.

Sell some unwanted things

If you have any unwanted clothes or items you could try selling them on Depop or eBay which are really good selling platforms. I’ve saved up quite a bit of money over the past couple months just from selling a couple clothes and things I don’t need so I would really recommend this. You can also take your unwanted clothes and convert them into cash which is a really good idea.

Save up a money jar

Each week at university I would have a jar that I would use to put any left over change that I had. I would also have a budget on my weekly shopping of £20 and any of that I didn’t spend I will put that into the jar as well. When it is full, I will then go and convert it into notes or put it into my bank and that’s something a little extra to the travel fund. Another idea is to have a pot that you put £1 in each day and the jar should be one that you can’t get into and you will save up money faster than you think because that’s £365 a year.

Create a saving’s plan with your bank

Having a savings account with your bank can be really ideal with saving up for anything. I have set up a section with my bank where I can put money into a plan purely for travelling and this adds a little extra to my travel fund. Next year I’m planning on going backpacking around Europe and having a savings plan can really help to save more money without having the temptation to spend it.

Have a spending plan and become financially responsible

Becoming responsible with money can be really hard but when you do, its the best thing you can ever do. The thing I use to become financially responsible is to have a spending journal, this has really helped to keep track of my spending and what exactly I’m spending money on. Also, at university, I have put together a spending plan and designated money to different things for example I’ve put aside £20 a week for food and £50 a month for different things. These are all my saving tips, I really hope this helps and I hope you enjoy the start of my travel posts. Thank you so much for reading, until next time which will be Monday when I start my university blog posts.

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Updated Evening Summer Skincare Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to update you on my evening summer skincare routine which has changed over the past few weeks. I’ve received PR packages and brought some new skincare so I have changed it up once again quite a bit. My skincare blog posts seem to do pretty well so I hope this goes down the same. I hope you enjoy this blog post and if you do make sure to give this a like and a comment because I love receiving feedback and talking to you guys. Also if you’d like to see more from me, give my blog a follow, I’m trying to get to 200 followers.

I am going to be showing you my evening skincare routine when my face needs some well needed TLC and I’ve had a long day. I am also going to be giving a review of the Primark face brush within this post also so if your interested, keep on reading. So firstly, I will go in and use my Simple face wipes to take off the majority of my makeup off before putting on a face mask. These face wipes work really well and are perfect for my sensitive skin because it doesn’t cause any irritation. Now onto my favourite part, I probably use face masks way more than I should but I am obsessed and I love the sense of becoming relaxed when using one. The one I’ve been using recently is the Mask of Magnaminty which is also self preserving which is amazing. I’ve never tried a face mask from Lush before but I decided to purchase this one for my birthday because I was interested to test it out. What I love about Lush is that all their products are Vegan. I thought because how much product you get in a tub you wouldn’t get much uses but I’ve used it 3 times so far and there isn’t a dent in sight. So I applied this all over my face evenly focusing on the places I have the most spots. I will leave this on for around half an hour so it gives the most help to my skin. I will then wipe this off using cold water and use a hand towel to wipe it off.

Next I will go in and use my Primark Face brush which was £15 which I feel is so reasonably priced for what it is. It is powered by batteries so there is no electronics involved making it way safer and it also has 2 settings, light or an even deeper cleanse. In Primark you can also buy alternative heads to replace each other because obviously the brushes are going to get dirty so they need to be replaced, the replacements are only £3.50 which I think is so reasonably prised. I’ve seen a massive improvement on my skin since using this, it makes it feel cleaner and helps to sooth of the skin. What I will do is wet my face using cold water and apply a face wash that I’ve been using which is the Simple Face wash and apply that to my face and rub it in a little, I will add the tiniest amount of the face wash to the brush also. I will use the brush around my face on the first setting for around a minute and then I will put it on the second setting for around 30 seconds for a deeper clean. I will then wash of the face wash with some water and tap it away with the same hand towel.

Before doing my whole skincare, I will do a nose strip and some eye patches. I love doing these on days I feel my face needs some TLC because the nose strip gets rid of any black heads and impurities on my nose and the eye patches brighten up my eyes and make them feel less heavy so I will apply them and wait 15 to 20 minutes before taking them off. I will rub in the left over access from the eye patches on my eyes and wipe away the black marks left behind from the nose strip, the eye patches I am using are the from Primark and the nose strips are from t-zone blackhead range.

Now I will go in with my Garnier Micellar water with a cotton pad and in circular motions, get rid of any left over makeup or impurities. The circular motion helps to get deeper into the skin to pull up the impurities. I will then go in and use the Garnier soothing botanical cleansing milk which is amazing, if you’d like a full review of the Garnier rose water collection, head over to my blog because I uploaded one a couple days ago. I applied this to a cotton pad and applied this around my face and neck in an upwards motion because this helps with preventing wrinkles because you aren’t dragging the skin down. I then went in and using the Garnier botanical toner which is amazing for soothing out the skin and getting rid of any left over makeup. I also applied this to a cotton pad and applied this to my skin and neck in an upwards motion again. These garnier rose water products are amazing because they don’t cause irritation to the skin which is something I have trouble with. Finally, I will go in and use the moisturiser also in this set and apply this to both my face and neck and then that’s it! If your interested in purchasing any of the products I’ve mentioned, I will leave the links below, I really hope you enjoyed, thank you so much for reading and until next time, goodbye x

Testing Garnier Rose Water Skincare

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So today I am back with another skincare blog post and today I am going to be testing out Garnier makeup and the new Rose water range. If you can’t tell already, I am rather obsessed with skincare and I love testing out new skincare products. I asked on twitter on some skincare recommendations and some of you recommended the Garnier Rose water collection which comes with a soothing botanical toner, botanical day cream and soothing botanical cleansing milk. I really hope you enjoy this post, if you do, give this a like and a comment because I love receiving feedback and talking to you guys. Also if you’d like to hear more from me, give my blog a follow, I’m trying to get to 200 followers by the end of the August.

To go with testing out these products, I thought I would try out the Garnier Micellar water also, I know what your probably thinking, I’ve never tried the Garnier Micellar water? No I haven’t, I have no idea why either. All these products where so reasonable priced, both the toner and the cleansing milk were £1.69 each and the moisturiser was £2.50 and I got a mini version of the micellar water which was only £1. One thing I must add is that I’m obsessed with the packaging because it is so pretty and pink so it will look so good in photos. Another thing that I love about these products are that they are formulated just for dry and sensitive skin which is perfect for my skin because I do have very dry and sensitive skin. Another thing I absolutely love about this skincare brand is that they are all completely cruelty free which is amazing because I only use cruelty free products.

Now onto testing the products, I thought it would be a good idea to have a full face of makeup on for testing these products because the micellar water claims its meant to get rid of 100% of makeup so instead of using a face wipe firstly, i’m going to be using some cotton pads and only using the micellar water to test it out fully. The first place I wanted to test was my eyes, so I held the cotton pad on my eye for a few seconds and then I wiped it away and suprisingly, it got rid of most of my eye makeup, I just needed to run this under my eyes to get rid of any left over makeup which I was so impressed with, this product also didn’t cause any irritation to my eyes which I was worried about, I then did this on my other eye and It worked exactly the same. I then got another cotton pad and used the micellar water to run this around my face to red rid of my face makeup and this worked so well and even got rid of my MAC Lipstick which is really hard to get rid of. Based on the results, I would definitely recommend this micellar water if you don’t already own it that is.

Next up I went in and used the soothing botanical cleansing milk. This claims to sooth out the skin, remove makeup and impurities which leaves the skin feeling soothed. I put a fair amount of this onto a cotton pad and evenly placed run this over my face in circular motions. This product did get rid of a lot of left over makeup which the micellar water didn’t get rid of and I totally agree, it definitely made my skin feel so much smoother which I love. I also ran this along my neck and this got rid of any dirt that may of been on my neck, it is always important to run your skincare products along your neck because it is said that the neck is the first place that is meant to age so looking after it will slow that process down. This product didn’t cause any irritation to the skin because as I’ve said, I do have sensitive skin so I’m glad this is made for sensitive skin. Another thing I will add about these products are that they have a beautiful smell and they smell like they will really freshen up the skin.

The next product I went in and used with the soothing botanical toner. It claims that it gets rid of makeup residue and impurities along with toning the skin and leaving it feel smoothed. I also put this on a cotton wool pad and ran this along my face and neck in upwards motions which is a good time for reducing the look of wrinkles or developing them because you aren’t dragging your skin down. This product does exactly what it says it will, it got rid of some impurities and my skin felt so smooth. I have trouble trying to find a toner which doesn’t cause irritation and this one didn’t which I was really happy about.

Finally, I went in and used the botanical day cream. This claims that it intensely soothed the feel of your skin and leaving it soft and supple, it is also enriched with rose water, known for its soothing virtues also enriched in natural antioxidants to help protects the skin from the harmful affects of the environment which sounds amazing. I placed small dots of this all over my face and neck and then rubbed this in, in upwards motions and it definitely soothed out my skin, my face now feels so clean and smooth, I’ll definitely be using this on a daily basis a long with other products. I would really recommend this collection of skincare especially if you have very dry and sensitive skin, thank me later. Thank you so much for reading, until next time x

What I Got For My 19th Birthday

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So today I am going to be telling you everything I got for my birthday which was the Saturday just gone. Before I start, I just wanted to say that in no way am I trying to brag because there were a lot of things I didn’t expect to receive and I am so grateful to the people who brought me something or gave me money, it means so much. I also wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who sent lovely messages and said happy birthday to me on both my blog and my other social media’s, it made me so much happier. Now let’s get into the part you’ve all been waiting for, what I got for my birthday. I hope you enjoy and if you do, make sure to give this a like and a comment and if you’d like to see more from me, give my blog a follow.

When I came downstairs my Mom had put a bunting up and brought me two balloons which I found so so sweet. I then opened up all my cards and I mainly got money from all of my family because they literally had no idea what to get me ahaha. My boyfriend then came over and I literally didn’t expect anything he got me, he really didn’t need to and I am so thankful for everything I got. I’ve wanted a Pandora bracelet for literally the longest time and my boyfriend got me one, it is so beautiful and I especially loved the charm because I’ve been looking at the rose gold charms for as long as I remembered and I thought they were so beautiful and in the end he got me my favourite one. I am so thankful for this and it makes me so happy looking at it. My boyfriend then also got me a Mac Liquid Lipstick which I’ve wanted for the longest time also, I got it in the shade ‘Burnt Spice’ and its the most beautiful nude colour and I’ve never been able to buy it because I thought it was way to expensive haha but I’ll definitely be purchasing more because this is such great quality and so pigmented. He then also brought me a Victoria Secret body mist in Vanilla which smells so good!! He then also took me to London which was a total shock and we went to Notting hill and then went to WestField and oxford street to do some shopping.

My Mom also got me a few things in a bag, she got me some Shampoo and Conditioner from L’oreal and she also got me a few face masks which is amazing because I love doing a good face mask. I also got a perfume from New Look which smells so so good. I also got a book called ‘how to be happy’ by Eva Woods and I’m really enjoying it already so I would really recommend the read, I’ve got this goal to at least read 3 books a month because I haven’t been reading much over the past year and I’ve been enjoying it so far. I then also got some little bits which I really liked.

I didn’t really buy much from London because I literally couldn’t find anything I wanted to buy but I did purchase a few things, I think I’m just going to save the money till I see something that I really like or till I go to Rome. The first thing that I purchased was from Zara, I brought this really beautiful top that I’ve wanted for ages bit I literally couldn’t find it anywhere in my size which was this top. I know its really out there and very colourful but I just found it so different compared to anything I own and I’ve decided to change up my style a lot more and I want to be more adventurous. This top was only £20 which I thought was so affordable for this top.

The next thing I brought were some bits from Lush that I’ve wanted to purchase for a while. I really wanted to try a different bath bomb because I’ve been purchasing the same one for the past few years and that’s sex bomb so I purchased Twilight because it smells beautiful. I also purchased a face mask and I decided to purchase Mask of Magnamity which smells so good and it definitely brightens up my skin.

I also popped into Primark where I only purchased a wrap top and a face scrubbing brush which I’ve been looking at for a while but I didn’t know if it would work. The top I got was red which dots and flowers which look beautiful on and I absolutely love the look off wrap tops. If your interested in seeing a review of the face scrubbing brush then comment down below. And that’s everything I got for my birthday, I really hoped you enjoyed the read and if you did, make sure to give it a like and ill see you next time, I hope you enjoyed x

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) 18 Things I’ve Learnt At 18

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So today, it is my birthday, I have turned 19 and left my year of being 18, it has been so full of emotions, both happy and sad. In celebration of my birthday, I thought I would tell you 18 things I’ve learnt from the past 18 years of my life, a lot of life lessons have been learnt and it has been one heck of a journey. If your interested, there will hopefully be a birthday haul up soon in the upcoming week and I’m so excited. I hope you enjoy this post and find it somewhat interesting or inspiring, if you do like this, give it a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more blog posts from me, give my blog a follow.

It is okay to have bad days, weeks or months

There have definitely been rough times in my life and I have always beaten myself up for wallowing on things until I came to the realisation that it is okay to have bad days and to always give yourself time to heal. I have suffered from Depression for a couple years now, I am finally starting to feel better and I am only dealing with Anxiety, I’m glad I’ve finally learnt to give myself time and not to rush myself, there will always be bad things that happen and no matter if it takes days, weeks or months, everything will be okay in the end.

Success won’t come to you, you have to work hard to get it

When I was in high school, I had always dreamed of achieving certain things but I would always expect them to come to me until I realised I had to work hard for what I wanted. For a few years now, I’ve wanted to create my own blog but I didn’t want to start it if I didn’t have the determination and motivation to work hard for it. Going to university has also been a massive achievement for me and I wouldn’t of been able to do it if I didn’t have the motivation to strive harder.

It’s okay to have a small circle

I remember since I was young I used to feel proud of myself with the amount of friends I have but then I came to the realisation that I would rather have a small circle of friends compared to having loads of friends that you aren’t that close too, its all fun and games hanging around with loads of people but it isn’t so good when you have a problem but just want to talk to a close friend.

A whole world is out there

When I was little, I’ve always wanted to travel but I had no idea why, now, I want to travel because I want to see so many new things and I want to learn about different cultures. A whole world is out there to see and its amazing. I will have a passport by the time its my birthday so I will finally be able to see the rest of the world and I hope I’ll be able to find my true happiness somewhere.

Education is so important

In high school I used to hate going to school and learning about different things but now, I get so excited about learning about new things and that’s one of the main reasons I went to university, I like having the opportunity to learn about new things that’s also probably why I want to travel so much, I like learning about different cultures and places.

Comparing yourself to others isn’t going to make you happy

I am guilty of always comparing myself to other people and if I tell you the truth, it has never turned out to make me happy. I know its easier said than done but just try not to compare yourself to others. I have the tendency of comparing my weight to other women who are slimmer than me or are better at doing makeup than me and it just made me feel even worse about myself. I’ve learnt to try and love myself more and stop trying to change myself for others.

Taking photo’s don’t always make the memory more memorable

I am guilty of always wanting to take photos of everything and especially being a blogger, it’s quite hard to stop. There have been times where I’ve been with people and there has been a beautiful view and I have got my phone straight out to take a photo but sometimes, you just need to learn to take in the moment and that will make a bigger memory compared to being on your phone.

You don’t always have to be in a relationship to be happy

When I was younger I always used to think that being in a relationship would make me so much happier but in reality it really doesn’t. I’ve been in so many relationships that haven’t made me happy and I have felt so much happier when being single compared to being in that relationship. Some people have told me that they only feel happy when their in a relationship but if I was to give any advice, I would stay single and find yourself and be happier.

Accepting yourself is more important than anyone else

Accepting yourself for who you are is the most important thing to do compared to getting accepted by anyone else. I used to go out looking for compliments and waiting for people to accept you when in reality you only need yourself to accept yourself, it will make you so much happier in the long run.

Its okay to walk away from toxic friendships and relationships

If I’m totally honest, I have had so many toxic friendships and relationships that I’ve lost count off. Staying in a toxic friendship/relationship is probably easier to stay in compared to walking away because you don’t know what it will cause. It is definitely okay to walk away from them because I promise you, it will be way better and will make you so much happier.

Not everyone will stay in your life and never beg for them to stay

I’ve learnt through many experiences that some people just don’t stay in your life, their could be many reasons why but there is no making them stay. You should never blame yourself for someone walking out on your life you should just use it as a life lesson. One thing I’ve learnt not to do is beg for them to stay, there is no use begging for someone to stay and it will make you so much worse because you will feel that you wasn’t enough so if someone wants to leave, just let them.

Money is not everything

I’m sure everyone has had their moments where they thought money was everything and that it is all you strive for. I came from a not so privilege family and going to university, I had so much more money than I was used to but it didn’t make me any happier, yes it can be something that motivates you into trying harder but don’t see it as something to bring happiness because there is so much more that can make you happy.

Don’t obsess over anything

This may be something that you can relate to, sometimes you work yourself up so much over something that in the end doesn’t matter. I am guilty of obsessing over certain things and that’s not going to solve anything so just let it flow and what happens, happens.

Keep a good skincare routine

Until around 6 months ago, I never really had a well planned skincare routine which sounds really bad but true. Having a good skincare routine is amazing because it can make you feel so much more confident if your skin is clear and it is so important to look after your skin.

Always make time for yourself

Making time for yourself is so important, this is because you need time away from everything to think through things and to heal. Taking time to pamper yourself can help you to feel so much more calmer and it can teach you to love yourself gradually.

Your parents are always your best friends no matter how old you get

Your parents are the most important people you will ever know and they will always be there no matter how old you get. I’m so much more closer to my Mum than my Dad but I always know that there’s no one who will care about you more than your parents and if you need someone, you can always run back to them.

Dress to impress for yourself

When it comes to clothing and makeup, it is common that you stick to a certain type of clothing or a certain makeup look but why not try something different, wear that dress that you wouldn’t normally feel confident in and wear that lip colour you don’t feel confident wearing, it doesn’t matter what others think, all that matters is what you think of yourself and always dress for YOURSELF, never dress for anyone else.

Chase your dreams

If you don’t ask for it, you don’t get so why don’t you ask for that job opportunity and why don’t you book that flight. It is always important to reflect on your dreams and to achieve them because it is so important to have dreams because it gives you motivation to strive.

That’s the end to my 18 things I’ve learnt before turning 19, let me know in the comments how old you are and what your biggest life lesson has been. I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) My Goals For Being 19

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am back with another birthday related blog post and today I am going to be telling you my top 5 goals for being 19. I turn 19 tomorrow so I thought I would put together my top 5 goals for the upcoming year. I’ve had some of these goals for a while but I’ve never accomplished them and my aim is to be able to do them this year. I really hope you enjoy this post, if you do, give this a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more from me, follow my blog for more.

Develop myself mentally and physically

One of my main goals of this year is to develop myself mentally and physically, what I mean by this is that I want to develop my self-esteem and aim to love myself and put myself first. I’ve always had a really bad self esteem but has risen since last year and I really want to aim to grow that and become more resilient to other people’s opinions because they don’t matter. I also want to learn how to deal with my Anxiety better and not let it stop me from doing certain things. As in physically, I want to keep up going to the gym and eating healthier because it has made me feel so much healthier and gives me so much more energy, going to the gym has become my happy place and I want to maintain that and also push myself and start doing some classes.

Get my first tattoo

I’ve wanted to get a tattoo for the longest time but I’ve never had ID or the confidence to get one. I’ve been spending years looking for the perfect tattoo and now I’ve finally found one. I really want to be able to push myself and get my tattoo because the longer I leave it, the longer I’ll regret it and over think it. I’ve always loved the look of tattoos and I know some people don’t like them but I see them as another form of showing your personality and they can also paint a story of another which I find rather beautiful. My aim is to either get one in August or when I get back to university, I’d absolutely love to get one while I go abroad but I don’t know if I fully trust them.

Travel as much as possible

If you’ve read any of my most recent blog posts, you would know that I’ve recently got my passport and my ultimate dream is the see the world and I truly believe that I’ll find myself and leave a bit of my self in each country. I’ve already book to go to Rome for 5 days in September which is on my travel bucket list, If you haven’t already seen that, go over to my blog and it should be there. I’m already planning to go to Berlin in January too so hopefully it will be an exciting year. I also want to do things I’ve never done before like water sports etc because I really want to try new things and I feel it would really help me deal with my anxiety a lot better.

Build up my blog to be the best it can be

So recently, I’ve been trying so hard with my blog but I have also been lacking motivation on what blog posts to write. I really want to start planning out my blog posts and putting out the best content I possibly can because blogging has become my favourite hobby and I want to try my best with it. I also want to start interacting with you all because when I started blogging, I really wanted to meet new people and do what I love and that’s what I intend to do, I also want to make some blogging friends because I feel it would make my blog so much better. I also want to reach out to more companies on partnerships because I feel it would help with my blog so much.

Work harder at university and not let my grades define me

My first year of university was very weird and even though I tried really hard, I wasn’t getting the grades I was expecting to get and that really got me down but now, it has really motivated me to try harder and use more strategies to revising and to learn a different way of writing. I’m also not going to let my grades define me and I’m not going to let them get me down, I’m really motivated to start year 2 of university and to learn new things. One of my main aims is to plan out everything I’m writing and to spend a lot of time doing assignments and preparing for exams, I’m not saying I’m going to spend 2 hours every night revising or doing work but whenever I have free time, I am going to schedule some time to do some work because I know it would really help. That’s the end to my 5 goals of being 19, I’m really excited for this next chapter and year and I really hope I can achieve all of them, let me know down below what one of your goals is, I would be really intreaged to know, my next post is tomorrow, on my birthday, I hope you enjoyed, until next time x

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday mid day for another post…

My Birthday Pamper Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to be talking you through my pamper routine for my birthday which is on Saturday, I will be doing this pamper routine on the Friday evening. I know I’ve only just uploaded my pamper routine for the warm weather but this is different, I am going to be doing some things differently and adding some different things. I thought on the night before my birthday I would give myself a good pamper ready for my actual birthday, it is also a good idea to give yourself a pamper every once in a while because our bodies get us through so many things and we should learn to love it. I really hope you enjoy and don’t find this too repeatative, the last one did so well so I’m guessing you enjoyed. If you do, give this post a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more from me (I have more birthday blog posts going up) then give my blog a follow, it would mean a lot.

First things first, I will put my bedding in the wash because having fresh bedding is literally the best and makes your bed feel so much more comfy, it also makes you so excited to get into bed. Once this is dry, I will go into my room and make my bed before going to run myself a bath. The bath bomb I decided to use was twilight because I’ve never used this one before so I thought I’d try something different and it smells so good and it makes a beautiful pattern, this is where I’ll take the time to shave my legs and under my arms and exfoliate my skin preparing my skin for tanning. I will then just have a relax in the bath and read a book, the one I’m reading at the moment is “the perks of a wallflower” which I’ve read literally 50 times but it never gets boring. Once I get out the shower, I will put on my pj’s and use my coca butter moisturiser because it makes it so much easier to apply fake tan and help it not look patchy.

The fake tan I am going to be using today is the St Moriz in shade Medium because I am very pale and I don’t want the tan to look too orange. My best advice with applying fake tan is to use an applicator because it stops your hands from going orange which lasts almost a week, trust me. If you don’t have an applicator, you could use a sock because this would in turn make it so much easier to apply. The tan I’m using today takes around 6 hours to develop so it gives me loads of time to get other things done. First things first, I will shake the bottle and then apply the tiniest bit to my leg, using the applicator, I will rub this in all over the area it was applied to and then I will gradually go further up but I will also make sure I don’t leave any patches because there’s nothing worse than having a streaky and patchy tan, I will apply the tan to my whole body minus my face. I haven’t been fake tanning for long so if you have any advice on how to apply fake tan easier then let me know in the comments.

Throughout the period of waiting for my tan to develop, I will organise all my makeup and what I’m wearing for my birthday so it is all organised and I don’t need to rush round finding it in the morning. I’m hoping to god it’s not going to train on my birthday because I’m planning on wearing a dress. I will also take the time to carry on writing the blog post I am going to be uploading on the date of my birthday and its such a long one. I will then spend a few hours watching some Netflix and reading my book. I thought because I’m not going to be doing anything for the next couple hours, I would tell you what I want for my birthday, in no means am I expecting to get these things and I would be lucky enough to get one of them, so the things I want are, a Pandora bracelet, I’ve literally wanted one for years so getting one would be amazing, I also want a mac liquid lipstick in the shade Burnt Spice because it looks like such a beautiful nude shade and everyone needs one, I would also love to go on a trip to Paris because I recently got my Passport and I am eager to go somewhere and I’d also like some money to get some new clothes because I definitely need a wardrobe revamp. I will be uploading a what I got for my birthday on the Monday after my birthday hopefully.

Now, I will plan on going in the shower but first things first, I will apply a face mask, the one I am going to use is the Superdrug peel off mask because I find it way more satisfying and easier to peel off a mask. I will then hop in the shower. I will shampoo my hair and then I will use a hair mask that I got from Body care which was only 89p and I would really recommend these. The day I am uploading this, I got my hair cut and it just needs some nourishing, the one I purchased is meant to make your hair look shiny and that’s exactly how I want my hair to look. When I have washed this out my hair, I will just put a tiny but more conditioner in and wash my body to get the rest of the last over tan off. Before getting out the shower, I will wash my face using the t-zone face wash which is so good.

I will then put my pj’s back on and do my skincare, if you want to read an in depth skincare routine, here’s the link. The first thing I will use is my micellar water on both my face and my neck to get rid of any left over makeup. I will then go in with a toner to brighten up my skin and to replenish my skin. Lastly, I will use my Simple kind to skin SPF moisturiser and rub it in all over my face and neck. Lastly, I will go in and use my t-tree overnight spot cream on any blemishes I may have. I will then head up to bed and watch some YouTube before getting ready to go to sleep. I really hope you enjoyed this post, I’m sorry its a long one but I just wanted to explain things a bit more. Thank you so much for reading, until next time x

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) A Pamper Routine for Warm Weather

Hey everyone, I hope your all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am back with something I love to talk about, pampering yourself, who doesn’t love a good pamper, pampering yourself seems like a lot of hastle in the summer especially when you come in super sweaty, I’m guilty of just using a face wipe to get rid of all my makeup and that be the end of it but sometimes I really feel like I need a good pampering to have a relax after a hard day. I hope you enjoy this post, give this post a like and a comment and if you want to see more posts from me, give my blog a follow for more.

The first thing I will do is start running myself a bath, normally I will use a bath bomb, more likely from Lush, my favourite bath bomb is “sex bomb” its so lovely scented and they always linger on the skin for a while. I will then use a face wipe just to take off all my makeup so then I can put a face mask on, the one I use is the L’oreal brightening mask, I really like this mask because it really smooths my skin and also helps to brighten up my face. I will also use a hair mask in the shower because my hair has become very dry in this heat so it needs as much nourishment as possible. Once I get out of the bath, I will get into my comfy pj’s and have a relax while binge watching Netflix. I’ve been watching a lot of films recently and one of my favourites has got to be “the kissing booth”, this is an amazing film if you want to feel warm hearted, it is a romantic film but I really enjoyed it and there has been a lot of reviews on twitter which is where I got the recommendation from.

Next I will do my full skincare routine, the first thing I will use is my miceller water just to get rid of any left over makeup off my skin. I will then use my face cleansing milk to make my skin feel soft and cleansed and then I will go in and use my skin toner, I love this product because it always makes my skin feel so much cleaner and softer. I will then go in with my moisturiser and place that all over my face and neck, I will also then put on some overnight spot cream on any blemishes I may have, I’ve been really good at trying to keep my face clear, it always makes me feel so much more confident. I will then go in and use my skin moisturiser and rub that all over my body, if I’m planning on going out the next day, I will fake tan, I’ve only just got in to tanning because I’ve felt really pale. The wash off one is so good because it only lasts a day so there’s no worrying of it going patchy.

At this time I will probably be hungry and as I am doing my pamper routine, I will tend to eat a bit healthier, in this case, I decided to make some chicken and veg and put it into a giant Yorkshire pudding topped with gravy. I will normally sit on my phone while eating. Once I’ve eaten, I like to take around an hour without using any electronics, especially my phone and take my time doing something else. I will either read a book or I will do some exercise. Exercising always makes me feel so much calmer and stress free, exercising has probably been the best decision I’ve made and its made me feel so much fitter. If your ever feeling stressed or anxious, I would recommend doing some exercise or either do some meditation.

After the hour, I will then go up to bed and plan and write out some blog posts. I’ve been trying so hard to write really good blog posts at the moment and as my birthday is coming up soon, I’ve been trying to plan ahead with them. After that I will probably just spend the night relaxing and watching Netflix, let me know in the comments what you do on your pamper routine.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Friday mid day for another post…

Easy Summer Makeup Look Using 5 Products

Hey everyone, I hope your all doing well and welcome to my blog. First of all I apologise that there was no blog post on Monday, I did write one but the internet was playing up so it some how deleted and I didn’t have the time to write it out again so there will only be 2 blog posts uploaded this week, I have loads more blog posts up on my blog already and I did upload 4 posts last week so it kinda makes up for it. So today, I thought I would put together an easy summer makeup looking only using 5 products, in the UK recently, its been really warm and I’ve not bothered putting a whole face of makeup on if its just going to sweat off later on in the day. Picking 5 products was pretty hard because in total, I use about 10 products so halving it deemed to be hard. I narrowed it down to the most important things and I made an easy full face of makeup. I hope you enjoy this blog post, if you do, give this post a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more blog posts from me, give my blog a follow.

The first product I’ve decided to use was concealer, as it is my time of the month, I have quite a few blemishes and spots so there was no doubt that I’d want to cover them up, usually, I have very clear skin which is amazing. I used the Collection Lasting Perfection in shade 0 Extra Fair which is literally the exact same colour as my skin tone and has soon become one of my favourite concealers. Using this concealer, I placed this all over my blemishes and under my eyes and in some places I tent to have redness and then using my finger, I blended this all in. As I don’t use Foundation, this was an easy step for me.

The second product I decided to use was powder, I have very oily skin especially in the warm weather so if I didn’t powder I would just look like an oily mess. The powder I used was the Rimmel stay matte in shade Translucent which is amazing because it doesn’t leave an orange patches around my face. What I really like about this powder also is that you don’t need to use a lot of it because it matifies your face instantly. Using a powder brush, I placed this all over my face till my face was matte.

Next up eyebrows, there was never a doubt that I wouldn’t fill in my eyebrows, simply because I have the palest eyebrows ever so if I didn’t fill them in, I’d literally have non. For this I decided to use use the Ps 3-in-1 brow pencil, simply because it has a pencil and powder making it easier to fill in my eyebrows. Using the pencil side of it, I carved out my eyebrows and the arch, this makes it easier to fill them in and to create the perfect brow. I then went in with the spoolie to fade out the lines so they aren’t as harsh. Using the powder, I filled in the rest of my eyebrows.

As I don’t have much leg way for my eyes, the only product I could use was mascara because it would look weird if I either just used eye shadow or eyeliner. I used the miss sporty mascara which is really good for building both volume and length which is definitely what you need when you haven’t done any more eye makeup. I applied this to my lashes and layered it so I could get the perfect lashes.

Lastly, for lips. I used my MUA luxe matte lipstick in Tranquility, this is a really good lipstick if you want it to last on your lips all day, I’ve tested it before, I applied it at 9 in the morning and it was still on by 7 at night, isn’t that amazing? its only £3 also. All I did was apply this all over my lips, and that is the finished look. Its such an easy look to wear when your in a rush also so I definitely do wear this to university. Till next time, thank you for reading x

Testing Revolution Soph x Extra Spice Palette | First impressions & Swatches

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome back to my blog. Today I am back with a very exciting post and its testing the new Revolution Soph x Extra Spice palette. If you haven’t seen already, I have tested the first Soph x palette so if you’d like to see that then look back on some of my old blog posts. I was very excited to test out this palette because the colours are right up my street and I love every shade. I didn’t get any of the lipsticks to test out just because I have so many lipsticks in similar shades but they look really good also. I hope you enjoy this post, if you do, make sure to like and comment on this post and follow my blog for more.

Firstly, I am going to show you the packaging and the shades firstly, its such a beautiful palette and comes in such nice packaging.

The outer packaging to the palette is really nice, its a golden orange colour and the name is in a nude colour which looks really nice, I like how on the packaging of the Revolution palettes on the back they show a picture of all the different shades which I think makes a great touch to the packaging and gives a good insight into what the shades will be like which is ideal when your in a shop so you don’t have to open up the packaging. When you take the palette out of the packaging the top of the palette is a rose gold shade which looks really pretty and I feel it makes the palette look more expensive than it is. This palette was only £10 which was a bargain and I think all the lipsticks are all £4 each. The lettering is in a nude shade similar to her first palette, one thing I really like about this palette is that the names of the shades are underneath the colours which I think is a nice alternative to the slip of paper that used to come with the Revolution palettes because I’ve lost every single one of them ahaha. From looking at the shades straight away, my two favourites would have to be TWENTY ONE and VITAMIN C, they just look like such different colours and I love experimenting with my eye shadow and I feel you can create a lot of great looks using this palette which is perfect for summer.

Every shade in the palette is really pigmented and there is a great variety of shades in here. The black shade is so pigmented, with some palettes, the black shades always seem to let you down but this one really didn’t, its so pigmented and dark and it isn’t patchy at all. The shimmer shades are amazing and very pigmented along with the matte ones. I don’t think there’s any shade in this palette that isn’t pigmented. I definitely think its worth the price of £10 especially for 18 shades. which works out as 50p per shade which I think you will agree, is amazing.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

Ugly Location Photo-shoot Challenge

Hey, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am back with something a little different, I am back with a photography type post. I’ve seen this challenge around everywhere on YouTube but I haven’t really seen it on any blog accounts. Thanks to my boyfriend, I am going to be doing the ugly location photo-shoot challenge. My boyfriend has helped me so much recently on my blog and I appreciate it so much. Where I go to university, there are some good parts but there’s also some rough parts so me and my boyfriend put together a list of places we thought would make a great ugly location and worked together to get some decent shots bearing in mind he isn’t a photographer. Let’s get straight into the post, if you enjoy, make sure to follow my blog for more and like and comment on this post.

Location #1- Local park

Parks are pretty and all but this park where I go to university is quite run down and everything has rusted. While we were walking round, we came across these flowers which I thought were really pretty and I thought I would sit between them and then my boyfriend (Josh) would stand on the other side and crouch down. And these are the finished images. I absolutely love them and I want to post them everywhere, Josh did an amazing job with these ones.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_193512

When we finished taking photos here, we were looking round and we saw the tennis courts and I thought that this location would make a really good background for a photo and we had this idea where I stand behind the bars and Josh stands at the other side and I think these turned out alright, their not my favourite but I think their pretty cool.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_175653

The last place we went to while at this location is this bridge type thing that looked really run down but I thought it made a cute prob for the photo and made a good background. I really like this images which are already on my Instagram if you haven’t already seen. I took a few with my jacket over my shoulders and some without.

Location #2- Big Garden

A few weeks ago me and my boyfriend went to this garden that was a few minutes up the road and there was this abandoned building as we were walking round and I thought it could make a really edgy and cool. Josh crouched down onto the floor to get a whole body shot and I feel like this turned out really well.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_183209

The next location here was only a two minute walk away and it was a path that looked really run down and the stairs had rushed etc and I really love the first one because I’m on the floor and I feel it makes the picture look so much nicer. We also took some whole body shots and I really like how these turned out.

Location #3- Canal path-

When I was thinking of doing this challenge, the first thing I thought of was a graffiti wall and as I walk down to the local shops by my university, there’s a canal you walk down and there are loads of walls around that have graffiti all over. This was probably the hardest place to get photos as it looked really run down and I had no idea how to make these look good but in the end, I think they turned out rather good and I think they look really edgy. The second image was taken in front of a flower bush just behind the wall so they are in the same location.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_185442

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_185035

When we were looking around this location, we came across some bins and I thought this would be perfect for this challenge, I don’t really like how the pictures turned out in the end but I do think they look pretty cool and I think I would be able to upload them to Instagram.

 LRM_EXPORT_20180612_001524

And that is the end to the ugly location photo shoot challenge, I really enjoyed doing this challenge and it just goes to show that if you have a great imagination, you don’t need to be in a pretty location to be able to get good photos, I hope you enjoyed, let me know down below which location was your favourite. Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

My Workout Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to be talking you through my workout routine which I have finally put together after 2 months of experimenting. I’ve also changed up my diet so I’m going to be showing you what I eat in a day, I’ve tried to cut out all the junk food like chocolate, crisps and takeaways and trying to incorporate fruit and vegetables into my diet more and more. I am also vegetarian besides chicken and dairy free because I am lactose intolerant. I have been aiming to going to the gym everyday and having the day off on a Sunday, in today’s blog post I am going to be showing you my workout routine for everyday of the week, from Monday to Saturday, most days I do try to go to the gym but some days if I am unable to, I will do some exercises at home instead. I also try to have days where I purely concentrate on arms and back and then abs and then arms, as I feel like this works best for me. If you are interested in seeing any other workout routines, I have a board on my Pinterest (username- chloebrazierrr) showing some workout routines for each core workout, which is where most of my workouts have come from. I also stretch before I do all of my exercises which has also came from Pinterest and I feel this is so important to stop from aching also drinking loads of water while exercising is so important to keep yourself hydrated. Id just like to add, after each workout on each day, I like to go on the treadmill for around half an hour to get some cardio in and to burn some more calories, I’m adding this here so I don’t need to explain after each workout.

Monday-

On Monday, I like to do a whole body workout as I had the day off on a Sunday and after this workout, I always feel so refreshed and ready for the rest of the week. The first thing I will do is to stretch, when I first started working out I would always forget and I always used to be so achy till I started stretching and it just helps to activate the muscles and reduce body aches.

Tuesday-  Leg Day  15 reps, 3 sets

On a Tuesday, I like to concentrate on my legs and abs, this workout really helps work on your thighs and bum and also helps with abs which I really like. I like doing workouts which focuses on more than one thing.

img_5835

Wednesday-

On a Wednesday I will primarily focus on arms and abs, when going to the gym, my main aim was to lose weight on both my arms and abs and this workout really helps to build muscle along with burning fat. I also think this is a great workout for toning, I will do 10 reps of each in 3 sets.

img_5840

Thursday-

On a Thursday, I like to have a bit of a break from the week, I will do a light workout and this workout focuses on arms and abs, I find this a lot easier to do and it also gives me more time to do some cardio, I will mainly do this on the treadmill and the step machine.

5acda593-34c2-4b79-abc7-6cb950619d39

Friday-

This is a very intense workout which focuses on abs, glutes and thighs and I find this a very effective workout, I always leave with my legs aching. I will normally do 10 reps of each in 3 sets.

img_5838

Saturday-

For the last day of the week. I will do a primarily strength training workout which targets different points of the body which is really effective and is also a good workout to end the week on. I will normally do 10 reps of each in 3 sets.

img_5836

Sunday-

Rest day

Recently, I’ve also been doing these 7 minute workouts on YouTube which are really effective and sometimes feel like I’m doing and burning more than I do from a whole hour at the gym, I always come out sweating. This is the link.

Summer Morning Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and having a lovely week. Today I am back with a new blog post and I am going to be talking you through what I get up to in the mornings. I do have one of these already on my blog Morning Routine but this was what I did on the morning I have university and now that I have finished University for the year I thought I would update you on what I do on a summer morning. I hope you enjoy this post and it was really requested on my twitter, If you do, give this post a like and a comment and if I get to 20 likes, I will do an updated evening routine, give me a follow for more.

On an average day I will wake up at around 9:30/10:00, I always feel so lazy if i wake up any later because I feel like the morning is over if I wake up any later. The first thing I do is open up the curtains to let some light in and then I will grab my bottle of water and drink some water to hydrate myself. I always wake up really dehydrated so I need a lot of water.

On a good day, which is not most, I will go to the gym first thing so I can get it out of the way and this really helps to boost your metabolism throughout the day and this really helps to wake me up and energised for the rest of the day. I tend to stay at the gym for around an hour dependant on the workout I’m doing, if you want to see my workout routine, this will be uploaded on Friday so keep an eye out for that. When I get back from the gym, I am usually dying so I will quickly jump in the shower to freshen up.

When I get out of the shower, I put my clothes on for the day and dry my hair and then I will go into the kitchen and make some breakfast. On this specific day I just had some wholemeal toast with a glass of orange juice. When I get back into my room I will make my bed because I always forget and it makes my room look so much messier than it actually is so I will make that and then I will sit back on bed and write a blog post, I always get my inspiration in the mornings so I will always try to at least start a blog post or plan some because I’ve had a lot of motivation recently so I like to maintain that. I will usually spend around 45 minutes doing this dependent how long of a blog post I am writing and then I will catch up on some YouTube videos.

On the day I was writing this, I had quite a busy day and had to go to into town to get a few things so I will spend around 15 minutes doing my makeup and then I will curl my hair. I’ve been liking wearing less makeup recently and curling my hair and making an effort with my hair, I feel as if it looks way more natural and good on an everyday basis. I will then go out of the door and get on with the rest of the day. And that is the end of my morning routine. Is there anything different you do on a morning? I’d be interested to know.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

Bright Summer Makeup Look

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and I hope you have a lovely week. Today I am back with Makeup Monday and I am going to show you how to achieve this makeup look, primarily focusing on the eyes. Today I thought I would show you how to easily incorporate bright eye shadow into your everyday makeup without it looking to bold and in your face. I am using a drugstore palette which is really affordable and very pigmented. With this look I have mixed bright colours mainly pink with a hint of orange. If your interested in how I did this, just keep reading. If you enjoy this blog post and would like to see more from me, check out my other blog posts and follow for more. Lets get straight into the tutorial.

Firstly I will make sure to use a moisturiser, the one I am using today is SPF moisturiser as I have very pale skin and I get burnt very very easily so I have to keep protected. The first product I will go in with the Collection Lasting Perfection in Shade 1 along with the Ps Pro Concealer in shade 1 on my blemishes and under my eyes and any red patches on my face, I either blend in my concealer with a small flat top brush or when I’m in a rush, I just use my fingers because it is super quick and easy. After I’ve blended all of this in, I will go in and use my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent using a fluffy brush and gently apply this to my face to give my face a matte finish. I will then take my Collection Contour and Highlight Kit and use that contour shade and place it on my cheek bones and my forehead just so I can create that dimension and to give me a bit of colour because I’m very pale. Finally for my base, highlighter, I will use a Freedom highlighter where the shade name has rubbed off and apply this to the top of my cheek bones and along my nose and Cupid’s bow which is what I normally do.

After my base makeup is complete, I will then go in and do my eyebrows which are the most important part of makeup besides eye shadow. As I am very fair skinned, my eyebrows are very light and very blonde so I have to fill them in to be able to see them. Today I am going to be using my trusty RevolutionPro Brow Pomade in dark Brown firstly I will stencil around my brows to get the perfect brow shape and then I will gently fill in the middle of my brows and this creates the perfect look, I do tend to spend a bit of time on my brows as I want them to look perfect.

For my eye shadow today, which is the star of the show, I am going to be using two palettes, the first one being my MUA pro in shade Vixen and an orange eye shadow from the PS range in Primark. Seeing as these palettes don’t have names, I will insert an image and place a dot on all the shades that were used in this eye look.  I will firstly go in with the lightest shade from the MUA palette and place this through my crease to create a base, I will then take the light pink shade and place this through my crease as a transition shade and to help build up the colour. Using the darkest and brightest pink shade, I will run this through my crease and mainly all over my lid and lower lash line as the main colour. Going in with the PS palette, which may I say the eye shadow’s were 60p each, yes 60p, I took the orange shade and placed this all over my lid and blend this in with the pink. Using a hint of the yellow shade, I placed this over the orange shade to make it brighter. As for my eyeliner, I will use a Collection eyeliner to create a thin line on my eye and then I will create a small flick at the end. Using my trusty Primark Mascara I place a couple layers of this onto my eyelashes to make them look longer. I’m on the hunt for a new affordable Mascara so if you have any suggestions, I’d love to know.

img_5832

Finally, my lip shade, I recently purchased a matte liquid lipstick from Essence and now I use it almost daily, its very subtle but is also very fun, especially for everyday summer wear, This lipstick is also very pigmented. Its in the shade 02- approved. And that’s my finished makeup look, I hope you got some inspiration on the makeup you are going to be wearing throughout the summer.

Updated Skincare Routine- Summer 2018

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to be showing you my updated skincare routine, this has changed quite a lot since my last one as I have been experimenting and testing out new skincare. I’ve been really into looking after my skin and clearing out my skin before summer. In the summer time, I don’t really like to wear foundation and just light skin products as I like to show my freckles and just feels so much lighter on my skin. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been testing out a lot of new skincare products and all these have been incorporated into my skincare routine. I’ve been really intreaged in testing out loads of new face masks as I’ve been interested to see how well they work on my skin, one of my favourites which I tested out the other day and it was a bubble mask from Primark which was only 80 p which I would really recommend, now lets get onto my actual skincare routine. I do most of my skincare both morning and evening but I try to use a bit more products in the evening as I want to remove all the makeup from the day.

img_5567

Morning Skincare routine-

In the morning I like to have a bit of a refresh ready for the rest of the day and I like to start of with my trusty T-zone skincare clear pore facial wash, as you can tell by the image, I have used a lot of this product because its just that good, It really wakes me up and helps to brighten up my skin in the morning. I don’t really do much skincare in the morning but I just like to go over my face to get rid of any left over makeup from the night before. I scrub this face wash into my face until all my face is clear and then I will wash it off with my towel. I will then take my Micellar water from DermaV10 which I’ve also used quite a lot of and again I use this to get rid of any left over makeup from the night before and to get rid of any dirt that has came on to my skin during the night. This cleansing water really helps to cleanse and smooth my skin which makes applying makeup so much easier. I will then take a little bit of my skin tonic from Primark on a cotton pad and rub this around my face, this contains Vitamin E which is really good for the skin and this tonic really helps to balance and refresh my skin. Lastly, I will then take my Skin therapy light hydrating moisturiser and pop this in little dots all over my face and not to forget my neck and then I rub this in using my fingers, I never used to use moisturiser on a regular basis which sounds really bad but now I’ve got into the routine of using it every morning and night and I have seen a vast improvement in the condition of my skin and I have less dry patches upon my skin. This moisturiser is also really good for soothing my face and making it soft, and that is my morning skincare routine.

Evening skincare routine-

img_5664

As you can see in the image above, their are a lot of skincare products, trust me, I don’t use all of these every evening. Firstly I will take my Primark face wipes and take off the majority of my makeup including my eye makeup and then simularly to my morning routine I will go in with my t-zone facial wash and get rid of the left over makeup on my face and this just helps to cleanse my skin from all the makeup that has been on my skin. Every week, I try to do at least one face mask, there isn’t one in the image purely because I’ve used all mine up and I need to go get some new ones, some of my favourite face masks are from Primark and they are only 80p which is so affordable and each one contains different properties aimed towards different skin types and what you want the face mask to acheive, I tend to use brightening and cleansing face masks and some times t-tree face masks but recently, since fully taking care of my skin, I have seen a vast improvement in the skin and it has cleared up so much. I will then take my micellar water and my skin toner on a cotton pad and simultaniously rub them into my skin, this really helps to get rid of any makeup and dirt bit also helps to cleanse and sooth the face. After that I will take my moisturiser and dot it around my face and neck and rub that in leaving my face moisturised and smooth. On an evening, I will take my skin therapy overnight calming blemish serum and place this on some blemishes I may have and this just helps to get rid of any pores I may have and also reduces redness which I generally do suffer from. Simuarly to doing a face mask, I will also try to do a nose strip and an eye patch at least once every week. The nose strips are from t-zone and they are charcoal and I like to do one of these each week because it helps to get rid of any blackheads I may have on my nose and also unclogs any pores I may have on my nose because this is a general area I tend to get spots. I also like to use gel eye patches which are from skinacademy which are really good because every once in a while my eyes tend to get really dry and I start to get dark circles and these patches are great for that. I will just place them under my eyes and leave them there for around 25 minutes and then I will take them off and rub in the excess, this really hydrates under my eyes. And that is my finished evening skincare routine.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

My First year of University Experience- Was it what I was expecting??

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well, welcome to my blog. In today’s blog post, I am going to be talking about my First year of university experience, I’m going to be covering a variety of things, my course, the accommodation and my social life and anything that comes to mind really. Over the past month, I’ve slowly been finishing off assignments and doing some exams but now I’ve finally finished my first year of university and have loads of time to just relax now. When I finally decided to go to university, I was very anxious about what to expect and if I’d make any friends or if anyone will like me. Now that my first year of university is over, I’ve finally decided that coming to university was the best decision I probably ever made. It has taught me so much already and I’m so excited for the next two years. There are a lot of questions a person should be asking themselves and worrying about when it comes to going to university, how are you going to budget your money and are you going to get on with your flat mates??

img_1660

The first thing I am going to talk about it the process of moving there and if it was scary or not. If you don’t already know, I go to Staffordshire university and currently studying Forensic Psychology. When it came to moving into university and the months leading up to it, I remember buying loads of things for my room and the kitchen and also stationary which now I look at it, I didn’t use half of it, I remember thinking that i’d need loads of stationary but in reality, all you need is a notebook for going to lectures and maybe another notebook for writing hard notes that are neat and some pens and highlighters, I didn’t use any of the folders or anything I brought. Another necessity for university is a laptop, if you don’t already own one before university, I would advise to have a laptop because having a laptop makes it so much more easier to study and produce assignments. I brought so much bedding because obviously I needed 4 throws for my bed ahaha, I only ever used two of them to alternate on my bed. If you’d be interested in a rough list of what things you need to buy, I’d love to do that for you!! I’m already dreading moving out of my accommodation in the next month as I have so many things but I’m planning on getting rid of most of it. Another thing I’ve learnt about buying for university is only buying the things that you actually need, if you see anything and think you need it, question yourself first and how many times your going to use it because no doubt, you probably won’t use it as much as you think.

When it comes to moving into the accommodation, I would recommend going on a university accommodation tour when you go on an open day as you will get a feel of which accommodation you would best feel comfortable in living in, I didn’t go on an accommodation tour but I applied for the on-suite and thankfully I was offered on-suite. When I was thinking about accommodation, I remember never wanting to share a toilet with anyone and having on-suite has been so efficient for me. When it comes to meeting your flat mates, what I did was use the university Facebook page and managed to find two of my flat mates and started talking to them on their, also the first night I got to university, we all sat in the kitchen for around an hour trying to get to know each other, for a few weeks I would talk to a few of my flat mates but at the end of the year we only talk when we bump into each other cooking in the kitchen, it was clear from the start that we probably wouldn’t all talk but my friend from university talks to all her flat mates and is moving in with them again next year, I think it all just depends on the individuals in the flat and you shouldn’t feel down if you don’t get on with you. I’m really going to miss living in the accommodation I live in now, it has been so refreshing being able to live alone and being able to learn the concepts of having no one to depend on and becoming fully independent which I was really excited about when moving to university.

When looking back on the first year of university, I had a very rough start and my anxiety was at its highest and I went through a very short period of wanting to just leave and go back home and get a job, luckily, I met one of my friends on welcome week and she knew how I felt so she started inviting me round her flat etc and I met so many new people which have now become the best people I’ve ever known and I’m honestly so thankful for them, the saying is true, you really do find your true friends when attending university. Making friends was my main worry when coming to university but it was so much easier than I thought, there are so many people at the start of university in the same boat as you so it is so much easier to find your own group and meeting new people, I remember going to a few flat parties and I met so many people. everyone is always looking to get to know someone and that’s what I love about university, you very quickly find where you fit in and become more confident around them. Another thing I wanted to mention is about alcohol, If you go to university with a belief where you don’t want to drink or just simply don’t like the idea of drinking then please don’t, you should never feel like you need to drink to make friends, the only reason I decided too was it made me so much more confident and I met so many friends. Also, never do anything you don’t feel comfortable with doing especially if its just to fit in, you don’t need alcohol to fit it at all, just be yourself and the right people will come to you.

Another tip I have with socialising at university is there are loads of socializing events around university like ember which is a resturant and LRV which is both a night club on campus and a pub type place. I would really recommend inviting people to go to places with you so maybe you can meet some new friends.

Now onto my course, as I’ve mentioned before, I study Forensic Psychology and the first year of university has been really hard, in total, I’ve had 6 assingments and 4 exams in total, which does seem like a lot but they have been spread out throughout the year and two semesters. All the modules have been really fun and interesting to learn about and I have learnt through lectures and seminars. My time table was not full on and the most I had on a day was a Tuesday where I only have 4 hours in total but they were spread out throughout the day. I would recommend throughout the day of having lectures, do some extra reading around the subjects, this will help have your own interpretation around the subject and help in exams and assignments, I produced a blog post a while ago on my study tips MY STUDY WITH ME AS A UNIVERSITY STUDENT- WEDNESDAY EDITION

When it comes to budgeting and paying rent etc, all the adult stuff. Rent works differently with different universities but my rent came out the same day as my student loan came it making it so much more easier to budget money and see how much money you have left. One thing I learnt from my semester is to not go shopping when your hungry or when you haven’t made a shopping list as you will go into the shop and pick up things you may think you need when you really don’t. On average, I spend up to £20 on an average week on food and i don’t really know if that’s alright but recently I’ve changed up my diet quite a lot and it’s been really hard to have all the fruit and veg stay fresh throughout the week. Another tip is to not go shopping until all your food is gone and you urgently need to go shopping, what I found when it came to shopping and food, I’d have a schedule where I’d go shopping every Sunday even though I still had food in the flat so they never got eaten and I somehow accumulated 3 draws of frozen food and had to throw most of it away at the end of the year.

Throughout the year I’ve also had to look for year two accommodation which was easier than I expected but it is important to make sure to look through the paper work before signing and to look round as many accommodations as you would like, it is also important to move in with people you trust because nothing would be worse than living with people you hardly know and going through the process of meeting new people, I know it seems like a long time away and you are completely focusing on first year, first year will fly by and it has honestly felt like a month, I’m going to miss the experience throughout the summer.

Home sickness was another thing I suffered from in the first couple months and it is totally normal to experience it, just remember your family and friends are only a phone call away and you can go home at the weekend whenever you want. I’m sorry that this blog post was rather long, there was so much I wanted to cover and there are still some things I want to talk about but I may mention them in other university related blog posts as I’ll be moving into my year two accommodation and will need to buy new things so I’m going to make a haul post on that. I hope you have found this helpful and somewhat interesting, if you are moving into university in September, good luck and I can tell you that you will love it!! I was thinking of uploading a university room tour a while ago but thought no one would read so I’m going to include it here, I’m going to write one of these each year to remind myself of the experience and that’s what I love about blogging, I have the chance of looking back on things that I may have forgotten, it’s like a personal diary. If you have any further questions, comment them and i’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Bank holiday Monday- Day Trip to London

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog, I’d just like to apologise for not uploading for the past week, I’ve been really busy recently and been trying to have a short break before I get into blogging properly again. I’ve decided to not have an upload schedule as I don’t want to rush blog posts and just upload them when I think their perfect. Today’s blog post is going to be all about my trip to going to London the other week and explaining my day out. For bank holiday, I wanted to do something and go somewhere and I thought what better place than to go to London. As I’ve mentioned quite a lot over on my twitter that I’ve wanted to go to London for a while (as I’ve never been to London before, yes a shocker)

Similar to my other blog posts, my boyfriend came with me on this day out and it was so lovely of him to take all the photos of me for me, if you are interested in seeing the bulk of my images from the trip to London and all my other images, check out my Instagram, I’ve just recently reached 300 followers on there and that means so much to me!! (my Instagram is chlolaurennnxox btw) The train tickets were quite cheap compared to other train tickets that I have looked at previously for London, the only difference was that the train ticket was for a very off peak time for like 8AM so it was very easy but it was really worth it! On the train I just did my makeup as I didn’t have enough time before leaving and I did try reading a book but then I couldn’t be bothered honestly.

My outfit for the day was a denim dress from Primark which was only £12 and my black vans as per usual. We were so lucky with the weather when we went to London, it was honestly beautiful and it was so warm.

We got into London at around 10:45 and the first thing we did was go and get one of them tickets where you can go on the underground, I was quite anxious about going on the underground because I thought it would be really busy but to my suprise, it was so much more easier than I thought it would be. The first place we headed off to is Oxford street and the first shop I saw is Bershka and I basically ran to it, I’ve been looking for some perfect Mom jeans but I couldn’t find any but I did find a really nice slogan top which had the quote of “snacks and naps” which I feel is so accurate to me. We didn’t go in many other shops, we just went into some that we felt we wanted to go into when passing as we were also going to go to West field so I thought I would do the bulk of my shopping while I’m there (I was completely wrong, that’s another story)

We then started to walk down to Piccadilly Circus and it was absolutely beautiful and I just wanted to sit here for hours. All the buildings were so pretty and I really wanted to take loads of images which obviously I couldn’t because my phone would have died.

img_4375

We then took the underground back to Oxford street as I needed to quickly pop into Primark as I needed to buy some sunglasses and also needed to get some shorts and sun-cream because I didn’t want to get burnt (even though I got burnt so much). We then made our way back down to Piccadilly Circus again and we walked along the road to the entrance of Buckingham palace which I’m going to be honest is that I was most excited about. Every body in London were so nice and as we were walking down the road, it was so pieceful and this one man was so nice, he offered to take a photo of me and my boyfriend because he could see we were trying to get a nice photo.

Once we’d made it to the end of the road and next to Buckingham palace, which was so beautiful and unbelievable but far from what I expected, I felt like such a tourist on this trip, even though London is in the UK. We took so many photos here and I love each and every one of them, We then walked back through the park that’s next to Buckingham palace and decided to have a sit down as we’d been walking for a while and we had to decide what we were going to do next.

It was such an overwhelming feeling trying to plan the day out and how were going to see everything in just a small amount of time. We did then decide to walk down to the London eye which I was most excited about as I’ve seen so many people go there and it just looks beautiful. We walked past Downing St but you couldn’t really see anything because obviously it was all fenced up and you couldn’t get in. Once we got to the London eye etc, I was so overwhelmed and surprised as I’ve wanted to come to London for a while and it came to such a surprise that I was actually here finally.  The view of the London eye was beautiful and I really wanted to go to the other side but we had no time as we was planning to go to West field and it was already 4PM and our train was at 8PM.

As we were heading down to the underground, I started to get really hungry as we both hadn’t eaten this day as we were both really excited so we decided to try find somewhere to have some food which wasn’t too expensive. We both decided upon Pizza in the end and after eating this, I felt so much better!

We then go on the underground on our way to West Field and I was very conscious of not having enough time to shop or go in the shops I’d wanted to. We got there at around half 6 so we only had round 45 minutes to have a look round so unfortunately I didn’t buy anything. We left at around quarter past 7 and we had such a mad rush back to Euston as the underground was delayed and we had to get on two underground trains to get back, thankfully we did make it on time which felt so good, The train journey was around 2 and a half hours which felt so good as we hadn’t really had time to fully sit down and chill.

I’d just like to say, thank you so much for reading, I am already planning my next day out to London as we didn’t have time to do everything we would have liked, I’d love to go to West Field again just to have a big shopping spree so maybe on my birthday and I also want to see all the sights again and go on a bus tour, they seem so fun!! I’d love to go here more in the summer definitely.
