Makeup look using the Soph x Makeup Revolution palette-

Hey again!! I am back with another blog post, so I recently went into Superdrug to pick up some bits (there will be a haul very soon!!) and I walked out with the Soph x Makeup Revolution palette. I’ve been wanting this palette for a while now and I finally got my hands on it, i’m so excited because I’ve heard such great things about it and it was produced by one of my fav youtubers- Sophdoesnails!! I am going to be showing you my first impressions and makeup look using this eyeshadow palette and if it lives up to the reviews that other people have published.. Makeup Revolution is my favorite drugstore makeup brand because it is so so affordable and I have so much Makeup Revolution products so if you would like to see a makeup look only using Makeup Revolution products then give me a comment down below of the 💖 emoji!! I did this makeup look for a lecture at 1 and I did it in a bit of a rush but I hope this gives you an insight into my everyday makeup routine for university. Now lets just get straight into the makeup look! Enjoy Lovelies..

Makeup used-

  1. Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define- Shade 1-

I use the makeup revolution contour and concealer in shade 1 all over my face (my impurities and spots) I only do this because I don’t like my face to look too cakey which is normally what happens when I use Foundation also. It is perfect for covering up spots and imperfections on the face, it can be easily blended on the face and has an amazing coverage, it also doesn’t leave any orange spots upon the face meaning the concealer leaves the skin looking flawless.

2. Makeup Revolution Pressed powder- Translucent-

I then went in with my trusty old powder which I have used in all of my blog posts because it is just that amazing! I use this all over my face because it is perfect for my combination skin because it matifies my face but it doesn’t create any dry patches upon my face which is always a bonus!! I normally take this round in my bag to university or when i’m out and about so that’s why it looks so worse for wear, sorry!! This is so amazing on top of the concealer because it brings the whole base makeup together and doesn’t make it look like i’ve just used concealer because it gives just a little bit of coverage and the best part, its only £2!!!

3. #ProArtist Highlight and Contour palette- Light-

For my contour and my highlighter I went in with my trusty old Freedom Contour and Highlighter palette and use the 3rd shade on the bottom row to sculpt some cheekbones (which I most definitely do not have) this works perfectly for my pale skin as it doesn’t look too harsh or most importantly it doesn’t look orange which most drugstore bronzers do on me. To do this I use my stifling brush from Makeup Revolution because it helps blend out the contour so perfectly. For my highlight I went in with the first shade from the palette which is a beautiful white shade and to apply this, I use a Primark flat top brush and place it on the temples of my cheeks and along my nose and on my cupids bow.

4. Primark 3-in-1 Brow pencil- Tabacco-

Filling in my brows is my favorite thing to do because as you may know, i’m ginger so I have no brows ahaha so I have to fill them in daily to make myself feel a little bit more normal. I use this Primark 3-in-1 brow pencil to do my eyebrows. I use the pencil part to calve out my eyebrows and create the art and fill them in the tiniest bit, I then go in with the powder side of the pencil to further fill in my eyebrows to make them look more natural.

5.Soph x Makeup Revolution palette-

So, the part that you’ve all been waiting for, I am going to be using the Soph x Makeup Revolution on my eyes and giving it a review. So the first thing I must say about the palette is that it is absolutely beautiful and I already know I will be getting so much use out of this, there is such a huge range of colours in this palette which can be used for any occasion or makeup look. So, I’m now going to talk you through how I created a makeup look with this palette and another thing I really like about Makeup Revolution, there palettes always come with a shade name sheet (which I have already lost) which is so useful for tutorials.

The first shade that I used was pancakes which I placed all over my lid which is a perfect base colour. The next shade that I went in with was cuppatea which I mainly focused this in the crease to create more of a dimension. I then used the shade tiramisu and also focused it on the crease and my bottom lash line. As you may be able to tell by now, my favourite eye colour look is red so the main colours I used all over my eyes was the red shades. So, the next shade which I went in with was pumpkin which is a very beautiful red shade and use this over the majority of my eye lid and then run this on my bottom lash line also. I then took a mix of both danger and festive flame to deepen the red shade because I’m not really into a bold shade so I deepen and darken it up because I feel that suits my eyes better. Lastly, I took the shade fairy lights all over my lid with a flat top brush.

Essence Liquid Eyeliner £2.50 & Essence Pencil Liner £1-

Both of these eyeliner’s are so affordable and doesn’t break a whole in my bank balance, which is always a plus as a student!!  These eyeliner’s are perfect for my makeup look as the liquid eyeliner makes it so easy to make the perfect winged eyeliner which I think would look perfect with the valentine’s day inspired eye look. I use the pencil eye liner on my bottom lash line just so it corresponds with the eyeliner and brings my eye makeup together. they are both so affordable, under £3 which you can’t go wrong with!!

Primark Amplif-eyed Mascara £2-

This Primark mascara from the PS range is amazing, it gives you so much volume so if you’re not really into that, this isn’t really for you, it does give some length too!! It is a very thick mascara and the wand allows it to coat all of the lashes and create a fake eyelasheffect!! This mascara is perfect to finish off the eye makeup as it looks very minimal but still makes an effect to the eyes. I will put this mascara on my top and lower lashes to bring the whole look together.

MUA luxe Velvet Lip lacquer Tranquility £3-

Finally, the last thing that I do to my face is apply lipstick, it is always the best feeling once applying lipstick and seeing the makeup looking put together!! The shade Tranquility is such an easy everyday shade as it is a brown-pink nude and looks perfect with any makeup look!! I go through stages where I constantly just use a nude lipstick but other times I use Reds and more adventurous colors which is always fun!! I feel as though makeup is always fun to play around with and there are endless ways and looks that can be made!!
