Hey everyone, I hope your all doing well x
In today’s blog post I’m going to be showing you how I take care of my hair and how I maintain its strength and glossiness. You may already know but I have ginger hair and I always love it to look silky because it brings the bright colours out more and my hair always looks different colours in different lights, and I always curl my hair so I’ve got to make sure I keep it protected!!My hair always needs a little TLC every once in a while because I always think that I am damaging my hair due to using heat on it all the time. I have been through alot with my hair, I never thought the colour suited me and I just thought being ginger was a bad thing (which I realise was really stupid but I was only like 12 ahaha) so I have dyed it only a couple of times, once or twice like a chocolaty brown which were semi-permanent and the other time it was permanent but it was a really dark brown and I didn’t feel that suited me that much. I have also dip dyed my hair a couple of times pink and I also dyed all my hair pink at one stage, I sometimes think it was a stage of a mental breakdown haaha. I am really glad that my hair is it’s natural colour because now I love it and I feel like it is my signature and makes me, me. I’m going to be telling you what I use to wash my hair and how I style it on an everyday basis!! Now let’s get straight into it, I hope you enjoy!!
When I am in the shower, there are a variety of products that I will use a variety of different shampoos and conditioners but my top two are the Keratin classic shampoo and condition and the Vo5 revive me daily shampoo and conditioner. This is because they leave my hair looking silky and shiney. Every other day, I will use an argan oil hair mask just to leave my hair feeling refreshed and healthier. I know it’s bad for my hair but I will have a shower at least once a day but other days, I will go in the shower every two days when I don’t have lectures every day only because my hair gets greasy after one day of not washing it, which is always a pain only because I can’t be bothered to wash it everyday. My hair is very oily just after one day and is very thin so I try to use hair products that give a little boost to my hair.
For my hairstyles everyday, I will more than likely curl my hair almost everyday, I use a curling wand which I got from B&M it was only £15 but it words really well and my curls hold all day and leaves waves the next day. The other days I will I will leave it straight because my hair is naturally really straight so I don’t have to use straighteners to keep it straight, I am very boring when it comes to my hair, if I want to have my hair out of my face which is normally when I have lectures or when I am at the gym I will either put my hair into a messy ponytail just because I feel like a slick look doesn’t really suit me that well or I will put my hair in to a low bun as I feel this suits me better than having my hair in a top bun. I don’t usually use heat protectant or any hairspray because it always seemed to make my hair look greasy and I know not using heat protectant is bad for my hair, but I am on the hunt for the perfect and affordable heat protectant and if you know any good ones, please let me know down below.
I don’t tend to blow dry my hair whenever I get out of the shower as I already curl my hair I don’t want my hair to get as damaged as it could and I will normally wash my hair on an evening just so it can dry naturally plus I always feel like this maintains the glowiness of my hair for longer because I feel like blow drying my hair takes all the heathiness out of it and it just feels dry after doing this. When it comes to the length of my hair, I generally like it a short to medium length because I feel like it suits me better and it isn’t as in the way as if it was longer. I will usually go to the hairdressers every 6 months so I do let it grow long for a while. And that is my haircare routine, thank you for reading!!
