Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog x
First of all, I just wanted to say a massive thank you and hello to all the new followers I have gained recently, it means so much and I really hope you enjoy my blog posts. Today’s blog post is a first impressions, I finally got my hands on Revolution Fast Base Foundation. I was quite surprised when I walked in to Superdrug and saw that my shade was still available because it is normally gone before I can get it, mine is in shade F1 because I am literally so pale, even this is kinda too dark for me but I can work with it. I am so happy that I finally got my hands on this because it is apparently meant to be similar to the Revolution concealer and that is one of my all time favourite concealers, it has such great pigmentation and converge. I am going to be testing this foundation out for the first time today and putting it to the test to see how good it actually is. Before I start, if you like these type of blog posts, let me know in the comments what other reviews you would like to see me do and I will be sure to do them some time in the future. I hope you enjoy this little blog post and If you do, make sure to give this post a like and follow my blog, I am so close to 100 followers!!
When I was in Superdrug, I was debating between the shade F1 and the shade F2 but it was pretty obvious that I had to get F1 because of how pale I am. The thing I love about these Revolution products is the shade ranges, there are 18 different shades in both the Foundation stick and the concealer and is perfect for any skin colour.
I have never actually tried a stick foundation so I was very excited to try it and I was very impressed. I’ve seen a lot of hype around this foundation and was really interested to see if it lives up to that expectation. From testing this on my back of my hand, it feels really smooth and moisturising just like the concealer and was so easy to blend. It was very pigmented and I have quite a bit of veins on my hands but it got rid of them all, that’s how pigmented it is!!
When applying this to my face, I didn’t know how much I would need so I applied just a bit and used my face blending brush to blend the foundation into my face, it felt really soft and blended so easily. This created a light medium coverage but did cling to some of my dry patches which I have between my brows which is my fault because I forgot to apply moisturiser to my face before applying. To test this foundation out fully, I added a little more to my face just to see if it is a build-able coverage and it is!! It only added a little more coverage but I only like a medium coverage anyway so it’s all good. I then applied the rest of my base makeup. I would say that this foundation is a semi-matte foundation which is really good for me as I only like matte foundations.
In relation to the colour, I feel that there is potential to make a lighter colour as this does look a bit orange but that may just be because of the lighting or because it is winter so it may be a better match in the summer when it starts to warm up a little.
To test the full potential of this foundation, I left this foundation on all day and checked every one in a while how the foundation was holding up. I’d had this foundation on for around 5 hours and it had warn off quite a lot around my t-zone and my chin which is what normally happens anyway because I am very oily in these places. Normally, I would top up my powder every once in a while throughout the day but I wanted to test this fully so I didn’t today.
I would really recommend this Foundation as there are multiple shades available for all skin tones and it is very pigmented and have I mentioned, it is only £5!! and that is amazing. This can be found in Superdrug or on the new Revolution website. I am so looking forward to testing out all the new Revolution products because they all look so good.
