Updated Summer Makeup Routine

Hey Everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am back with another blog post about my updated Summer makeup routine, but firstly, let me explain where I’ve been and my updated schedule. Since the end of April, I have been very on and off with blogging, my first explanation is with having exams I wanted to purely concentrate on my exams and revision an come back to blogging when my exams had finished. When my exams had finished, I wrote around 2 blog posts but it didn’t feel right. I’ve been suffering with varies mental health problems for several years and I just went through a phase of brain block with no motivation but over the past week or so, I’ve found my motivation to start again and I am going to come back bigger and stronger. Blog writing is something I’ve came to love and even though I’ve only done it for around 6 months, I’ve loved producing blog posts for everyone. So, on a Monday, which you are seeing now, I am going to upload a Beauty related post, on a Wednesday, I am going to post Fashion related posts and on a Friday, I am going to vary between Lifestyle and Fitness. If you aren’t already and like the sound of any of these types of blog posts, follow my blog for more! Now lets get on to today’s blog post, I am going to be showing you my updated Makeup Routine, now that it’s coming up to summer, I like to use alternative products just so they look better when the sun is out etc. I hope you enjoy and lets get straight into it.

Like every other makeup look, I will make sure to use moisturiser, the one I am using today is SPF moisturiser as I have very pale skin and I get burnt very very easily so I have to keep protected. The first product I will go in with the Collection Lasting Perfection in Shade 1 along with the Ps Pro Concealer in shade 1 on my blemishes and under my eyes and any red patches on my face, I either blend in my concealer with a small flat top brush or when I’m in a rush, I just use my fingers because it is super quick and easy. Today I am using two different concealer products as I am running out of my Collection Lasting perfection so I mix the two together for a perfect coverage. When it comes to the summer, I don’t tend to wear Foundation as it feels really heavy on my skin and I don’t want it to just sweat off (a bit TMI but true) After I’ve blended all of this in, I will go in and use my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent using a fluffy brush and gently apply this to my face.  I will then take my Freedom Contour and Highlight Kit and use that contour shade and place it on my cheek bones and my forehead just so I can create that dimension and to give me a bit of colour because I’m very pale. Finally for my base, highlighter, I will apply this to the top of my cheek bones and along my nose and Cupid’s bow which is what I normally do. In the summer time, I like to pack on my highlighter because my face looks so dry otherwise and highlighter just brings out a beautiful glow everyone wants.

After my base makeup is complete, I will then go in and do my eyebrows which are the most important part of makeup besides eye shadow. As I am very fair skinned, my eyebrows are very light and very blonde so I have to fill them in to be able to see them. Today I am going to be using my trusty RevolutionPro Brow Pomade in dark Brown, when I heard that Freedom was no longer in partnership with Makeup Revolution I was very scared that they would no longer sell the Brow Pomade which I had used religiously but thankfully, RevolutionPro came out with the same product. Firstly I will stencil around my brows to get the perfect brow shape and then I will gently fill in the middle of my brows and this creates the perfect look, I do tend to spend a bit of time on my brows as I want them to look perfect.

Using my Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 palette, the first thing I will do is take the lightest shade in the palette and place this all over my lid to create a base for the eye shadow to go on. The first shade I went in with was Cerise, this is the perfect transition shade to create dimension, I then went in with Candle to darken up my outer corner of the eye for the main shade. Next I added a hind of Drop onto my crease to darken it up a little and to add a red undertone onto the eye. For the main colour, I went in with the shade Hair down which is the perfect dark red colour which is almost gone in my palette which shows how much I use this look upon my eyes, I feel like red eye shadow is something different but also very subtle on the eye to be used for everyday looks. I place this shade primarily on my crease and slowly drag the shade into my crease and inner corner, I also placed this on my lower lash line.  Next, I placed a bit of the shade Dense on top of that red shade to create some glitter and to make the eye look pop. Lastly, I used the shade Bloom on my inner corners to brighten up the look and to add more dimension to the look. As for my eyeliner, I will use a Collection eyeliner to create a thin line on my eye and then I will create a small flick at the end. Using my trusty Primark Mascara I place a couple layers of this onto my eyelashes to make them look longer. I’m on the hunt for a new affordable Mascara so if you have any suggestions, I’d love to know.

Finally, my lip shade, I recently purchased a matte liquid lipstick from Essence and now I use it almost daily, its very subtle but is also very fun, especially for everyday summer wear, This lipstick is also very pigmented. Its in the shade 02- approved and I would really recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable lip colour. And that’s my finished makeup look, I hope you got some inspiration on the makeup you are going to be wearing throughout the summer.
