How to stay fit and healthy this Christmas | Blogmas Day 15

Hey everyone and welcome to Blogmas day 15, in today’s post I’m going to be giving you 4 ways to keep fit and healthy this Christmas. Something that I’m going to try this Christmas is to not restrict myself but also not to over eat and eat more than necessary. 

I know when it comes to Christmas a lot of people even myself tend to forget about being healthy and they will start again in January, but there is a way of not restricting yourself but also knowing that is enough. Food is a tricky topic when it comes to Christmas, their are so many delicious foods that should be eaten. This year I’m going to have a massive cheat day on Christmas day as a gift to myself haha, but seriously, I don’t want to stop myself from having the foods I want. Now let’s get started on the 5 tips I have. 

  1. Don’t limit yourself, just don’t over eat.

I learnt a lot from Christmas last year so I’m going to be incorporating this tip into this Christmas. I’m going to make sure I don’t limit myself to only eating a certain amount of food but I’m also going to make sure I don’t over eat when I am eating. One thing I couldn’t live without on Christmas day is Christmas dinner so I’m not going to stop myself from eating that but when it comes to snacks, I’m going to limit myself to a few. 

      2. Don’t say you’ll start again in January. 

Something I’ve noticed a lot on social media over the years are that “I will start again in January”. This doesn’t need to happen if you know your limits. There’s no point putting on weight and then rushing to the gym in January to lose it, the motivation should last throughout the year and shouldn’t stop at Christmas. I’ve known from experience that when I put on weight, it stopped me from wanting to go to the gym as it made me feel self-conscious and on edge. 

      3. Workout at home throughout Christmas

At Christmas I’m not going to be able to go to the gym as I’m going home for Christmas and I know a lot of people want to have a break from the gym over Christmas but that shouldn’t stop you from doing a workout. Even a 20 minute at home workout is enough, it’s better than nothing and it will help in terms of toning. I’m going to make sure that I do at least do a 20 minute workout everyday over Christmas, besides the Christmas period. 

        4. Eat healthy whenever possible

Just because it’s Christmas it doesn’t mean you can’t eat healthy. It’s definitely a good idea to eat healthy whenever possible. On the lead up to Christmas I am going to make sure that I eat healthy as much as possible same with after Christmas. If you binge, it isn’t the end of the world but eating healthy throughout Christmas will definitely help with motivation when it comes to starting again in January.
