How to Feel Better when your Having a Bad Day

Nobody is human if they don’t have their bad days, I know I have my fair few of those days. When I am having one of these days, I have found a couple of techniques that really help me to feel better when I’m having a bad day and I thought this would make the perfect post! I’ve wanted to write more self-love and self-help content so I thought it would be a great idea to publish an extra post every 2 weeks focusing on self-love and self-care topics so if you have any idea’s, that would be hugely appreciated!

I’m actually writing this on a day where I’m having a bad day just to show you that everyone has their bad days and it doesn’t make you any less perfect! I have been able to accumulate 5 things to do when you are having a bad day and I’m just going to get started!

Take time out for yourself

The best medicine for when your having a bad day is taking time out for yourself. Something that really helps me when I’m having a bad day is having a full pamper session while reading a self-love book and then watching a film/TV programme. This allows you to connect with yourself and take care of yourself, this may sound selfish but the most important person to look after is yourself!

Another great idea would be to organise what you need to do that day, sometimes if your having a bad day, having a better perspective on what you need to complete in that day can do the world of good! Get your diary or notebook and write out a list of all the tasks you need to complete that day and also write 1 positive thing that has happened that day to allow you to focus on the positive rather than the negative!

Eat something healthy (ish)

Normally when I’m having a bad day, I will get grumpy because I haven’t had some great food! Rather than drowning your sorrows in pizza and ice-cream, have a meal full of fruit and vegetables because this really does help nourish the body.

You could also take it on the other end of the spectrum and order a takeaway because self love ya know? Sometimes all you need to make yourself feel better is a good meal, just regret it later!

Talk to the people who makes you feel better

Do you live away from home and feel like you have no one to talk to? A really good idea would be to call a family member or your best friend because there’s nothing better than having a good ol’ 3 hour phone call conversation with someone you love!

If your with your family and friends, maybe go and catch a movie or just spend time together because that’s definitely something that makes me feel so much better.

Take a walk

Going outside and going for a walk can do wonders for the way you feel. If you’ve had a bad day I would 100% recommend going for a long walk to refresh your mind. You could even get active and go to the gym or go for a run because that’s definitely something that makes me feel so much better, getting into a sweat when your having a bad day may feel bad in the moment but it always makes me feel so much better at the end of the day.

Get an early night

When I’m having a bad day I definitely always want it to end so what better than having an early night and restarting in the morning. Are you having a bad day at work or struggling to do an assignment? come back to it in the morning and give yourself the time to recharge. Even if you don’t want to go to sleep really early you could go up to bed and watch some Netflix or take some time to read a book that you’ve been meaning to read for a while.

These are all of my tips, I hope this helps when your having a bad day!

  1. i love all your tips Chloe… particularly the “eating healthy” one….on bad days we tend to avoid eating healthy… i even forget to hydrate myself on such days….this was something to take note of…๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ’•
