Fashion is something I talk about a lot on my blog and my favourite season for fashion is Spring. I have been purchasing some essential pieces at the moment for Spring that I can style in multiple different ways so this post is going to be a look book but it is also going to be a haul in some form! I have been trying to be more conscious when I purchase clothing because I want to be more sustainable and one way I have been doing that is only purchasing items that I know I am going to get my wear out of and is not only going to be a one time wear!
I do have some other posts on my blog about sustainable fashion, especially on how you can take part in this journey, here is the link if you want to check it out: https://chlolauren.com/2019/03/06/my-thoughts-on-fast-fashion/
In today’s post, I have put together a list of my top 5 spring wardrobe essentials that I’m going to wear constantly throughout the Spring months, I have gone for the items that I know I can wear in multiple different outfits and pieces that look good for any occasion.
Item number One-
Boohoo: Black peasant crop top
Ever since I have brought this top I have been wearing it constantly with my mom jeans and it has definitely been one of my go to looks. This is a very basic top but it is also very different to anything I have seen but definitely fits the peasant and milkmaid top vibe that I have seen everywhere at the moment. I know this top is going to be a top that I wear in every season, especially because I want to purchase it in every colour! They also have a short sleeve version which would be perfect for Summer which I have purchased in a white!
You could literally wear this top with so many items, it would look so good with a denim skirt, shorts and it would also look good as part of a festival outfit to tone down the outfit a lil’
Item number Two-
Primark: Denim Playsuit, something similar on Nastygal
Ever since I saw the boiler suit trend hitting the shops I have been on the hunt for the perfect one, when I saw the boiler suit style in a playsuit form I immediately fell in love and I knew that it would be a part of my wardrobe a few years! Primark had the most affordable one that I’ve seen for £17 which also came in a pink colour that I’ve had to stop myself from purchasing! I haven’t at yet warn this because it hasn’t been that warm in the UK but as soon as it is I’m going to be wearing it literally everyday. I feel like this is a very easy outfit that you can either tone down or dress it up meaning it is a very versatile piece which is what I’ve been looking at investing into my wardrobe!
Item number Three-
H&M Red Floral Midi dress (Can’t find the exact link online sorry!)
Something that has very much entered my wardrobe is my love for midi items, I have around 10 midi skirts so I thought why not invest in a midi dress. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one until I stumbled into H&M and came across this dress in the sale for only £15, I went and tried it on and I just couldn’t resist and I had to add it to my wardrobe! I can see myself wearing this dress so much in Spring and summer with a leather jacket or by itself, I could also wear some jeans over it and wear it as a top if I wanted to! This is very different for me but I can’t wait to style it in the upcoming months!
Item number Four-
Vintage Denim Mini Skirt (This was vintage but I have linked one similar)
I’ve been looking for the perfect Denim skirt for a few years now but I think I’ve finally found it! I’ve been very much into thrifting over the past couple of months and when there was a vintage fair at my university I just had to go! I found this skirt for a fiver! yes £5 and it very much made my day! It is the perfect fit for me and it is a little bit longer than normal mini skirts which I’m very much into and I can’t wait to wear it with the Boohoo top I talked about at the start and with some basic’s.
Item number Five-
Pink High top Vans (I can’t find the link sorry!)
I was in JD looking for some trainers for my boyfriend where I stumbled across these Pink high top Vans and I fell in love, the best part about was that they were only £30 which is an absolute bargain for Vans. I have the black ones and I got so much wear out of them so I thought it would be fun for SS19 to get some different shoes and these were very different for me but I feel like you can wear them with almost all outfits and will be that extra pop of colour to an all black outfit!
So, those were my Five Spring essentials, which one was your favourite?
